@Robert Digby I know the comment seems like he thinks the 5 went unused from 1984-2018 but he meant that it was used from 1984-2018 and then dropped once Kasey left Hendrick that’s all lol

@Robert Digby I get what you’re saying but I think his comment was just pointing out that the 5 went unused from 2018-2020 before it was brought back for Larson… Nothing to do with who drove it before but they’re just mentioning that the 18 not being used next year isn’t the first time a team has stopped using an iconic number for a season or two. Wouldn’t be surprised to see the 18 come back in a couple of years

@MxneyyyyGaming well Kyle Larson has driven the 5 for two seasons, kasey kahne drove the 5 , Kyle Busch drove the 5 their may have been others but Hendricks DOES still use the 5 , remember Larson was champion in the 5 just last year. And the question was 5 car from 1984-2018 first time? And myself as well as others have pointed out a lot of people drove the 5 car from the 80’s all the way up to now. He has always used the 5 that I remember since it was his first car in the the Winston Cup series
