]]>@Mickey Elliott Blaney still took that 21 to an 8th place points finish and 1 win, those are the things people remember more. I am not saying Matt did bad, I’m not saying Matt deserved to be booted, but Matt didn’t really perform the way he was expected to. Considering he could wheel Levine and BK Racing cars to top 5s and almost wins, to see him not have those moments like in those cars was disappointing. He would’ve had a win at Talladega if he didn’t throw that bad block, and to be honest, if he wins that race I don’t think he loses that ride. Matt also being in his early 30s compared to Blaney being in his early 20s, Matt didn’t tear up as much equipment nor had as many DNFs, that also helped his average finish, but also hurts his value because he’s closer to being done with his career than starting it or peaking in it. I am not hating, but he wasn’t as good as he really could’ve been in that car in the 2 years he had it. I hope he gets another good opportunity in cup, but he’s gonna have to really earn it. I’m glad he finally got a win at Dega in the trucks, it shows he can definitely wheel anything you put him in. I just wish he performed better in the 21.

]]>@Alexis Gasnier Wood Bros gave Matt 2 years, he made several mistakes in situations that he could’ve won or practically had a win secure. I’m a Matty D fan, but they gave him plenty of time to do more than go out of the playoffs in the round of 16 and get 0 wins
Burton replacing Matt was a horrid move but Matt really didn’t show much to warrant keeping him in that car, considering it’s recent past at that point (minus the one year Menard drove it)
]]>Could’ve blown the water pump, his water temp did spike prior to his accident and you can see smoke out of the right front wheel well. That’s my assumption but I have no way to prove it was the water pump or not
