In reply to Boywife. Makes it feel more significant. Allen Bestwick-led broadcast booths are really good at that (listen to his other calls of plate races). Even with so much going on, they generally go with the “less is more approach” and go with less words and let the action speak for itself.

i prefer the old format where they take a minute to digest what just happened, instead of jumping into an instant replay. like i understand that people want to see what happened and why, but let it sit for a second, lets see who was involved, lets see the drivers walk away, lets see the rest of the field come to the line. a slower place might benefit the broadcast
