I never did think much for it when there was a high dollar street stock race at one of the local tracks and they would put a winning late model driver in the car just for that race. Money talks, the owner had a car in every class and hated for any of them to lose. The family owned a big trucking company, the father and three of his sons drove late models and the grandsons drove cars in the lower classes, even had one in the children’s mini wedges. Of course they all had the best of everything. The father raced until he was 76 and still quite competitive. Unfortunately he developed cancer and passed a couple years later. He was quite respected and helped others who were less fortunate.
