NASCAR’s been very open that these are basically to start/resume races quicker following rain delays. So they can race on a damp track instead of waiting for the dryers to get it all dry.

They’ve been labeled “wet weather” tires for a reason. It’s intentionally highlighting they’re not for full rain on ovals.

Standing water & runoff are still an issue when you’re not at an RC.

Either run them when it’s raining or don’t use them at all. If the track still has to be dried a little bit to run them, then these tires are pretty pointless.
