It’s hard to tell. I like Carl but I think losing the championship and crashing out like he did back at Homestead made Carl think about at what cost do I need to keep doing this? He wants to spend time with his family.

@Styxfan98 Dudes still got concussions in the Gen 6 cars. It was just not widely reported by the drivers because of the rules and the system in place at the time of fielding (as per Dale Jr.). No race car in the world is “bulletproof” and driver safety is not just about the cars (it includes track barriers, track personnel, caution rules, driver health, etc.).

Next Gen car does have harder hits, but death in a Gen 6 isn’t at all impossible in the right conditions.
