@Flameosaurus I call it a superspeedway track because they use the superspeedway package cars with a tapered spacer to limit HP.

There definitely could be even more changes to it to add a number of tracks to the schedule, kinda don’t need two dates at a lot of the tracks like Atlanta, Las Vegas, Kansas, and even the 3 short tracks Bristol, Martinsville, and Richmond especially since the thing that hurts those 3 with seating is the fact u have 3 tracks all within the same region to get fans to go to and doesn’t help when the 3 other short tracks fans want and r in talks with NASCAR r all within the same areas as the mentioned 3 existing tracks. But removing current second dates for many tracks can definitely lead to keeping the schedule diverse and unique compared to the other major racing series in the US or around the world. Like or hate NASCAR itself, the tracks on the schedule, the points system, etc. ya can admit the schedule is about the 1 cool thing about the sport with the different tracks they run and can do more. Granted I will admit things do gotta change with the cars a little first to make some tracks race better which to me is more just confined to add more horsepower and less weight, but that’s talk for another time.

As for what else NASCAR could add or do to the schedule, I think until we get the Fontana short track we move NASCAR to either Long Beach for a second street course race, though we’d have to sacrifice waiting for Montreal to be on the schedule since I do agree with 2 max of street courses on the schedule, or go to Monterey at WeatherTech Laguna Seca for temporary time. A race in Europe, since there’s no major ovals in Europe, aside from Rockingham UK, so it’d definitely would have to be a road course, I say 3 that would be good races would be Monza, Spa, or Silverstone. And something that I think would be cool to see is NASCAR do a little point to point race or hill climb like Pikes Peak or a TT like Isle of Man or Targa Florio for example. IndyCar had their own thing at Pikes Peak Hill Climb for a while, would be cool if NASCAR did the same. Give a little appreciation to just the cars. Would be cool deal to have every NASCAR sanctioned series run all together and give em exposure, or have 1 race non points where NASCAR does a Multiclass race. Weather it’d be Cup, Xfinity, Truck, or ARCA around Daytona, Talladega, Pocono, Indy, or Michigan, or the 4 mentioned plus Pinty’s, Peak Antifreeze Mexico Series, and Euro Series as well as possibly NASCAR Modifieds and Super Late Model Tour racing around Road America, COTA, the Nordschliefe, or Spa.

I agree with everything except that the short track results haven’t been good. They’ve been the same they always have. Only difference is that the rest of the tracks don’t suck anymore so the short tracks don’t look as good. Short tracks have never been the most popular except among the true core fan base in the Carolina’s going to their short tracks every week.

In fact there’s even more passing on short tracks now than there’s been in like 10 plus years, and everyone LOVED the short track racing with the last car.

Don’t get me wrong though, I hope they do make changes to improve the racing, cause better racing is always appreciated.

@Grandpa Shark I just think a track should be called a superspeedway because of its length and not its banking

Atlanta is a superspeedway now. But I agree with you on the spacing. I don’t like that IRC & Watkins Glen are consecutive weeks.

The big issue with F1’s schedule which has been a problem since the mid 2000’s is that they are hell bent on adding races in the US and other wealthy markets especially in the Middle East while removing races in the hotbed of F1 Europe & not adding races in South America or Africa. F1 only sees the dollar signs when they add a new race & they don’t think about the long term viability of that event because what usually happens is that the attendance falls of dramatically after the first race. A good example of this was the Indian GP. In terms of future schedule changes for F1 that I want to see, the German GP (at either Hockenheim or the Nurburgring) needs to come back & replace Miami on the schedule while Jeddah can be replaced with a second race in South America in Argentina (which is one country where F1 would do well in) or Chile. The Vegas GP can be replaced by the South African GP at Kyalami marking the first F1 race in Africa since the 1993 South African GP. Lastly I would like to see F1 experiment with moving the US GP from COTA to the Daytona RC and see if F1 cars can handle the banking.
