It’s certainly impressive but the hype is that they’re way better than nascar drivers. They aren’t. The best nascar drivers are about the same or better than the best drivers of all the other series.

That would give the regular season champion the ability to just start and park 9 races in a row. The current format (as bad as it is) rewards consistency more than that would.

I’m watching Nascar a few years now (as many races as possible which is not that easy for an Austrian) and I always watched the races with joi, but now seeing all these international stars it’s so much more entertaining, because any other racing series is doing the same. They all have guest starters in races and this makes it so moch more fun not only for us, also for the drivers to compete with global stars. And more important, since Button or Rockenfeller are racing in Nascar, I can watch some of the races in freeTV and I think this helps Nascar also a lot to gain fans around the world if the races are broadcasted in many different countries.

However I don’t think we can make a decision on weather the international drivers are over hyped until we can see a guy like svg put a season, both to compare tv ratings but also talent.

Start off easy with stuff in Mexico and Canada so that the drivers don’t have to travel as far. That will attract racers from the country they visit to compete and also inspire younger viewers.

I wanted to see him have a good day and drive a good race. He did. So did Kostecki. Sometimes I really enjoy seeing guys pass a bunch of cars. Kostecki did that. Kobayashi says he wants to return from what I heard and I’d watch it. I took it as entertaining. And it was just a good race.
