If that was wheel hop then why did he accelerate right before impact? That was on purpose the whole way. Cup won’t take that, if he ever makes it. Doubt he will.

Gibbs tried to shut the door and it didn’t work out for him. He would have had to go giant wide coming out of the turn and he would have gotten passed underneath

I normally don’t like seeing the dominant car getting cleaned out on the first turn of an overtime restart, but for some odd reason I rather enjoyed it today 🙂

All that said, both Mayer and Gibbs carried themselves well in their post-race interviews. I genuinely do enjoy the maturity that Gibbs is developing.

I don’t think Meyer races it that way unless it’s Gibbs. At least he didn’t do it to a teammate trying to make the playoffs. No love lost between these two and I can wait til this rivalry is in Cup year in and year out. It’s refreshing to have to drivers who genuinely can’t stand each other.
