They could be latched onto Smith and feel he was not getting what they think he deserved at JGR and felt that JRM would provide more for the money looking at all the years they were with the team on Annette’s car. Might not be the case but something to think about the move after you brought up how the Chevy pipeline is pretty well full at the moment.

Also a small detail that was in the announcement graphic was the 8 leaning forward again like it used to for JR instead of back like for Berry
