This is a product of the NASCAR Playoffs. It really is a terrible championship crowning format. Playoff haters have been preaching since the beginning how bad this format is; even when it was the Chase for the Cup. And keep in mind that the first 3 years of the Chase was NASCAR’s peaking point in popularity!

Watched the race live…he gambled on some fresh tires after dropping back on the first overtime caution banking on just what happened – a few more cautions before the end of the race. *Almost* paid off, just one more caution would have done it

Agreed. I think it’s one of the worst championship races I’ve seen. I’ve been watching NASCAR for 25 years and I have never seen anything like that. I’m 27 by the way.

I honestly think he was trying to bump and still make the corner. But he just didnt have a small enough gap to do it. I bet if he was closer he would’ve definitely gave rhodes a big bump to send him up the track. But rhodes drove it in deep as well.
