@LevyChevy Why not? Not every stick and ball series goes to game seven. That is why true game seven moments are special. That is why everyone remembers 1992, you did not need a gimmick to have a good battle to the end. If a driver has a good enough season to lock up 7 races early, they deserve it.

To lose it to a gimmick system meant to produce a game 7 moment degrades the meaning of being the champion. Does anyone recall anything compelling about any of the battles under the playoff format? Probably not, because it is not special, and then they have stages in the final race when they mean nothing. Just stupid. Give me locked up a month early over the nonsense we current have.

I would say it is more ‘not fun’ to have a gimmick system that removes anything special about the title fight for an entertainment angle, that is just not entertaining.
