@sproly bornTwo restrictor plate races in 2009 had the leader get wrecked because the car behind them faked a pass attempt to one side and was trying on the other. First it was Carl Edwards eating a catchfence with a side of Ryan Newman’s car at Talladega when Brad Keselowski faked a pass attempt to the right before committing to one on the left. Two months later at Daytona it was Kyle Busch eating an outside wall with a side of Kasey Kahne’s car when Tony Stewart faked a pass attempt to the left before committing to one on the right.

which funny enough parallels circuit racing rules. you’re allowed one move on the straight leading to a braking zone. to block the inside for instance. you cant just weave back up in front of him if the car behind decides to take the normal racing line when you showed your intent to defend the inside.
