Congratulations on putting up more paywalls to watch the sport! I guess people will just watch the pirate streams now.

I’ll do it tbh

@@NASCARFAN03 That’s great. Not everyone can afford it.

How do you personally watch the races?

@GlazedSweetRoll November 30, 2023 at 3:04 am

I already do lol. No one easy streaming go to option that I could just pay a low fare only to watch cup.

If you are impressed with where NASCAR is going for the future, please hold your breath for the next twenty minutes.

I just wish it was on youtube. I want it on a streaming platform, just one I use

I’m going to have to miss those Amazon Prime races. My internet data out here is limited.

To me sounds like they can’t get the main networks to carry the entire season. I’m a diehard fan, but this is getting sad.

So, ESPN always sucked, So, Their going away, Fox is staying but not as long, You-Tube, CW, Amazon, And what others I heard are coming on? I am a little confused.

What does this mean for overseas fans? Are those rights changing? For instance, I have Prime Video but here in the UK we cannot watch TNF. Is it going to be the same? Will the race re-runs on You Tube be staying?

@japanesetoenglish November 30, 2023 at 12:21 am

Viaplay are licensing the Fox and NBC coverage at the moment. I don’t see why they couldn’t do the same with online streams. After all, the audience in the UK is quite small, and Amazon/TNT are well aware of that.

So now we have to make sure we pay Amazon to watch NASCAR? Once NASCAR goes to a pay platform it will fall faster than when they brought in Toyota

More people have prime than fox sports and nbc sports in fact a very large percent of US households have prime. it’s a good move

Why will NASCAR not make this stuff available for Canadians. So incredibly frustrating. Lots of great talk about how important the fans are, yet it’s impossible to find any kind of streaming of racing.
Someone said Xfinity is on Amazon. Well, it isn’t available for those of us in Canada.

yeah, @@Dan-jl1fk Road America was widely credited for the great fan turnout and overall great experience at the track. DBC raved about it.

Have you thought about getting an American Dish Network or Direct TV package and using that at your house?

Reply
@japanesetoenglish November 30, 2023 at 12:30 am

What a terrible deal. It really is the worst of both worlds. Either keep the whole season on accessible TV or move to an online subscription like Flo Racing. Trying to mix and match is a recipe for disaster.

Fox has some of the most embarrassing broadcasts of the season, and NBC is only a little better. I hope Prime and TnT really step it up. Having a stream where I can mute the talking heads and just listen to the cars like I can on F1TV is a must

I’m tired of having to dish out more $$ to watch the race then post-race on different channels/streaming Svcs plus closing California Speedway. Very frustrating and I guess NASCAR doesn’t want my business. I am unable to sustain attending one or more West Coast tracks outside of California Speedway. I’ve been attending that race every year since 1998. Frustrating!!

NASCAR has gone to great lengths to control their product, competition wise from creating new cars to purchasing and building race tracks. If they fail to control their product by streaming to their own website app and youtube channel they will be at the whims of old media and fall behind and fall out of touch with their fan base. Get your own broadcast team, stream to your website, make a product so good that networks are begging to get it, but without giving up rights to broadcast on your own platforms, website/youtube etc. Most people are cutting cable or have cut cable long ago. I personally havent had cable in over a decade. The price they want is just simply too much to keep up with the sport and will keep a big portion of the fan base from engaging with the sport.

I wanted to hear from the CW in my mind that is the best announcement of all of them.

Reply
@pamnchip November 30, 2023 at 1:26 am

This is not necessarily a good thing for NASCAR or the fans. Example; Fox has good coverage and uses it’s cable platforms like Fox Sports, Fox Sports 2, FX and so on to cover a lot of the smaller races, practices, and qualifying. These are a lot of what interests the fans but when NBC takes over most of that goes away and the only thing covered is the race itself. I know for the media and NASCAR it’s mostly about money but for the fans it’s a lot more. NASCAR gets paid by the media outlet and the outlets will do the bare minimum to fulfill it’s obligation to NASCAR so the fans are the ones who get ripped off. Look NASCAR, if you want future fans you have to peak the fans interest more than just a long race once a week.

Honestly as long as nascar can continue to upload the full races on YouTube ill be happy because i can never watch races live so i watch them here on YouTube

You know what would be cool? If you could just buy ONE thing and watch all the races instead of buying SIX things to watch them.

NASCAR needs a single commerical free streaming service similar to F1TV. Seriously, evolve already.
