While not having the greatest rookie season in NASCAR history Ty Gibbs had a pretty good NASCAR Cup Series debut. With that the possibilities for Gibbs are endless and they just may start in some good and explosive ways in 2024. The future is bright for Gibbs and the #54 JGR team. In my opinion Ty Gibbs is going to surprise a lot of people in 2024.

How do you think Ty Gibbs will perform in 2024?
0 wins 11 top 5s 18 top 10s
He’s going to win
Maybe one or two wins
I don’t see him winning but I do see Him making the playoffs
Same and will anger someone
I think it’ll be similar to Chase Elliott in 2017
Kid is damn talented and I don’t think he’ll win but he’ll have 4-5 really good shots to win a race
But if he does win I will be happy to be wrong and I believe I will be wrong
Let’s just hope the fanbase will form in a civil manner and not end up like the cultists defending Elliott’s every move
@@S.K.R.E.Inc. I can think of more annoying than the Chase Elliott fans.
My main concern with Gibbs coming to Cup was him being too aggressive in Xfinity but if he keeps driving like he did this year, he could certainly win multiple races next year.
I don’t see Gibbs making the playoffs next year, but I think he’ll show a strong uptick in performance. I could see him putting up a few winning performances next year.
It’s crazy to say this but Gibbs is underrated. He’s one of the most talented drivers to come into NASCAR in the last few years. He matured a lot this year and I think next year will continue that pattern. And he’s only 21, so he has a way to go. I’m not putting all my eggs in the anti-Gibbs basket yet because I think he has a promising career ahead.
Ty Gibbs has potential. I dunno if i consider him underrated.
Ty has really grown on me this year. He’s seems to have shown that he’s matured a lot since his Xfinity and Arca days. I see a win for him next year or at the very least a playoff appearance.
Same, he was not controversial, ran good, he’s actually talented.
He may be in the ride because of his grandfather, but there is no doubt he has talent. I’ve honestly never seen a rich kid with this much talent
He’s the only silver spooner who has a chance, unlike a few folk in RCR, HMS, and Penske (and I’m not talking about the Kyles, Log, and Blaney)
I think he is the most talented silver spooner ever
The ultra rare silver spoon driver that actually deserves his ride
@@AnthonytheAmerican Not sure on that
As long as he can keep his pit crew next season, then yes he’ll be a dominant force in the Cup Series. He’s had a good amount of chances to win but, unfortunately the crew that he had was unfortunately not the one that he had at the beginning. I thought that it was a terrible idea for him to have to switch crews for the benefit of another driver. Also he needs a new sponsor so that there can be more than just the part time sponsor for a diecast to sell.
Isn’t Monster Energy enough?
@S.K.R.E.Inc. yes and no. They don’t want to be on a diecast. You can’t have a primary that doesn’t want their brand on a diecast, that’s not good for merchandising purposes. And Interstate Batteries is only just a small handful of races now kind of like how STP only appears one race a year for the 43 now.
Think the sponsor dilemma is one of the reasons HBSE got the branding & merchandise ownership stake at JGR. Plus if JGR gets new sponsors, then interstate can focus more on Gibbs
@M3RK_54 Interstate started scaling back their sponsorship over the years. That’s why Mars Inc was the primary sponsor for Kyle when he was in the 18 and Interstate was the co sponsor. Just like how GM GOODWRENCH faded away from RCR when Harvick took over and how Home Depot died off shortly before Stewart left JGR. Interstate Batteries even said that they were going to scale back with their sponsorship for JGR but, not completely go away.
@@billyshay7207 they have, but at the same time after Rowdy left, they increased with the rest of Gibbs’s teams
Ok i have a hot take, i think that Ricky Hendrick if he was still with us (RIP) people would have had the same feelings they have with Ty Gibbs today, and i know what you gonna say “that Ty Gibbs was an over agressive driver” and you are 100% right but again unfortunately we didn’t truly saw what could Ricky would have done in a full time ride with HMS, maybe he would have been as aggressive as Ty Gibbs during his rookie years or would have been a clean driver. The point that i want to give is that “Owner Kids” are less appreciated than Underdogs
You might be right on Ricky Hendrick.
Call me morbid or in bad taste or whatever, but I think the loss of his father changed him. Ever since the end of last year, it seems like he isn’t as prone to anger as he was last year. I will say, he also is a much nicer guy to meet in person than he was in his Xfinity regular days.
I’m expecting a very similar season to 2023, plus a playoff appearance. 2025 and beyond tho, watch out for Ty Gibbs
It’s not bad taste, it definitely matured him.
The loss of a parent will change you. I’m glad to see his change is a healthy one. As much as it suck it seems like he is stepping up to be a man his father would be proud of. I didn’t think I was gonna like him, but I was wrong. I can’t wait to see where he goes as a driver, and it’ll give me and kids another driver to cheer for.
You may have a point
@@ManyOts exactly. He could’ve easily fallen off the deep end, got into drugs and threw everything away. But he didn’t and this performance over the year showed he made improvements each and every week.
@@uncensored1948 I do have to give Ty Gibbs some credit
Ty Gibbs’ performance in the Bristol night race reminded me of Erik Jones in that same event in 2017
He’s a driver that’s steadily channeling his fast pace and aggressiveness similar to a young Kyle Busch. I expect him to make the playoffs in 2024
I think he will get 2 wins, possibly more and finish in the top 8 in points this season. He will be a threat to make the championship 4.
I dunno about Ty Gibbs making it in the final four in 2024. But we shall see. He does have potential.
The only silver spooner that isn’t a hack, in rigged equipment, or drives recklessly. He actually has a chance with the hidden potential he has, ever since the Clash this hear, he has had a bit of a Top pack finish most of the time
I thought it was impressive how he won in his first ever xfinity race
Exactly! That’s when I became a Ty Gibbs fan grandma.
Has a lot of comparisons with my favorite driver, Dale Jr. But this kid is in an era where the equipment is so good team to team, you have to be talented to do well. My kid loves Ty, we’ll be pulling for him. Hope he keeps his temper in check and just drives up to his potential.
Ty is surely JGR’s next “franchise driver” in the Cup Series for the foreseeable future. With that being said, I think it’s time to bring back the 18, since it has been and always will be JGR’s flagship number. It might take next season or two to make this a possibility, but I would like that number to make a comeback. Nonetheless, Ty really gave the number 54 a big justice.
Ty definitely has talent. As you said he has matured a lot since xfinity. 2024 will be a stellar year for him.
I dunno if he will do better in 2024 compared to 2023. Not that he didn’t do bad this year.
Gibbs will do great things next year and go very far into the Championship chase. This is the future of JGR and all parties involved know this.
Next year, Carson Hocevar will be the youngest Cup Series Driver.
I always laugh when I see people crying about him being silver spoon or “only there because of his last name”. Yeah, sure, it helped him a lot, no doubt, but he’s an incredibly talented driver and he would be here regardless of his name. I kind of cheer for him and I think he’ll be good for the sport. People will love to hate him even more once he wins races and fights for titles. I just hope he maintains his aggression and kinda rough approach because we need drivers like that, we need personalities and we need controversies. I love Larson, I really like Chase Elliott, Bell, I like Byron but these guys are just so freaking boring. So I’d love to see Ty Gibbs being a little bit of brat sometimes, rough on and off track. We need this. And yeah, I think he’ll have tremendous career
