I do not get why it is so hard to throw on softer and skinnier tires for the road courses and short tracks. We see on the road courses when the drivers have the grooved tires that wear out there is great racing and pit strategy. Chicago was fantastic at the end because of the tire wear off and what a talented driver could do pushing through that.

The huge HP Tyler talked about is because of the larger tire. Yates stated 100hp is possible with very minimal changes. Essentially ot sounded like reprogramming the ECM

You are right, NASCAR is not saving the teams money. When you have to pay around $400,000.00 for a car before you drop the motor in it, that is not cheap.
I believe they are buying their cars from a company called ILMORE in Michigan and any replacements parts I believe must be bought from them too. I was told this though a friend, who is a friend of a current Cup Crew Chief back in 2021 when they were switching from Stock cars to Trans-am cars/Indy cars/ hybrid cars that was coming in 2022. This source is still a Crew Chief for the same team. What do you wanna bet that NASCAR has a stake in the company in Michigan?

what people often forget is, in 2018, chevy came out with the new camaro and was pathetically slow to begin with. they did get their crap together in the second half of the season but that’s worth noting because chevy in 2023 can do what ford & toyota did in 2018 and DEMOLISH the opposition.

don’t be surprised if we see history repeat in the new campaign.
