i literally just had this conversation on 1 of jr download’s episodes where someone in the comments said, “jr is sooooooo important to the sport. nascar should get smart with that.” i absolutely agreed with that.

it’s funny to me when drivers were asked why jr is so popular and a number of them couldn’t answer. i just keep saying there’s no bigger fan and promoter for nascar than dale jr. he really is the voice of fans who love and appreciate it’s history, but he’s a business man who also wants to see it grow for the future. no other driver in this 21st century era has been so influential to the sport than dale jr whether ppl want to admit that or not. he’s not even on the track anymore, but his voice carries weight and he will use whatever means he can to always try to keep the focus on nascar and how to improve it for everyone (fans, drivers, teams, owners, business, etc). if there was no dale jr around, i really don’t know where nascar would be today and that’s the god honest truth.

I wasn’t a big fan of Dale Jr when he was racing but since he retired he has done amazing things for the sport.
That has made me a big fan.
Dirty mo media has helped grow the sport in ways no other outlet has!

The guests on the podcast are incredible. Hearing some of the stories from the 70s 80s 90s NASCAR is a treat. Dale Jr interviewing his family (Kerry, Uncle Danny, & Aunt Linda?) are among the best episodes. They give prespective on the early days of Dale Sr and the Earnhardt family. What makes Dale Jr real is that he is objective about his family struggles as a child. In the 90s it looked cool to be the son of the Intimidator but there is so much more. Also his podcast humanize the larger than life figure of Dale Sr.
