I would like to Kevin Harvick and Clint bowyer for commentary booth was very perfect while driver nascar XFINITY booth in Charlotte speedway return was better than Raining last season.

1. Lesser Commercials during races
2. Stop showing kids in the crowd
3. Take each race seriously by not showing cringey skits

The pre race shorts DW and Jeff Hammond and the others they used to do those with when the broadcast would start…that’s one I miss

Let’s start by toning down the ads, improving camera work and replacing Bowyer with McMurray

Reply
@huntercalef1092 February 12, 2024 at 11:38 pm

I think McMurray and Harvick would work well together.

@runrafarunthebestintheworld February 13, 2024 at 3:28 am

@@huntercalef1092People that want McMurray don’t realize how boring and cringe he will be though. I would rather have David Ragan in the booth.

I was going to give NASCAR a chance and start watching last year, but the Daytona coverage was so bad I didn’t watch any races until NBC took over

I agree on that one.

Reply
@Milton_Valenzuela February 12, 2024 at 11:27 pm

Don’t cut to commercials so often. Get rid of spotter audio during “Crank It Up” segments. Have an NBC style tech analysis from time to time

Reply
@MarkPentler February 13, 2024 at 12:44 pm

This is America, asking for them not to cut to commercials very often will be met with raucous laughter.

With the new media rights package which begins next year, especially with Xfinity going to the CW, and less coverage on main Fox, do you think Adam Alexander replace Mike Joy, and Mike Joy to an emeritus role? My concern is that Adam will not go back to the trucks, and his agent may pressure Fox to either move him to cup or else he goes to the CW.

Reply
@chrisguardiano6143 February 12, 2024 at 11:54 pm

Or he might go back to TNT or even join Amazon for their coverage. When it comes to TNT, I think Adam Alexander will be their second choice if they can’t get Allan Bestwick back.

Reply
@JAldrich73 February 12, 2024 at 11:59 pm

@@chrisguardiano6143I don’t see WBD will to spend the money to acquire Adam. I see Nexstar more interested, especially with NASCAR producing the broadcasts.

Reply
@johnrubino8937 February 13, 2024 at 4:29 am

I’ve noticed that people don’t realize that the CW and TNT are part of the same company. Whoever gets the CW contract I believe will get the TNT races as well.

Reply
@JAldrich73 February 13, 2024 at 11:53 am

@@johnrubino8937 CW is only 12.5% WBD, but it is controlled 75% by Nexstar. CBS and WBD has been slowly backing out of the CW, especially after CW obtained the rights to LIV golf, because CBS and WBD felt it would hurt their relationship with PGA.

@ChuckRusty February 12, 2024 at 11:39 pm

I like Bowyer, but McMurray in the booth with Joy and Harvick would be a better fit IMO.

@brooks9661 February 12, 2024 at 11:49 pm

1. Get rid of the cartoons. 2. Implement side by side for all commercial breaks. 3. Add more cameras and personnel to make sure the current lineup of camera crew doesn’t miss anything important and get better angles of the action and wrecks. 4 get Larry Mac back in the booth. 5. Tell the camera people to not zoom in as much 6. Give the turns two cameras each and tell them to pan not zoom in unless there is a wreck 7. Make sure that at least one camera films the whole accident and submits a good replay of it. 8. Show what the commentators are talking about 1 to 2 seconds after instead of waiting 30 seconds after.

Reply
@trainscae1024 February 13, 2024 at 3:34 am

They can’t implement side by side for every commercials. The advertisers don’t like it, so that’ll never happen, sadly.

Reply
@caseysmith544 February 13, 2024 at 4:16 am

All but side by side ads for whole race I feel could be implemented.

it’s a tough pill to swallow, but if people keep putting up with whatever it is, they’ll keep doing what they want, how they want. I know it’s not a hard concept, but I’m still struggling with it on some of the things I watch, and some of the things I want to watch, but don’t want to support due to decisions made by corporate. It’s not always an easy choice to make if they’re still doing enough things you like, and I think they know that too.

honestly i want them to have f1-style broadcasts. make the races feel like big events. f1 has proven that races in barcelona & abu dhabi can be somewhat enjoyable if the broadcasts actually do heavy lifting, even if that’s not how we want it.

i want that high-level broadcasting to stay throughout the entire season. there’s a reason nbc is loved so much, it’s because they keep that intensity up consistently

Reply
@polycube868 February 13, 2024 at 2:57 am

Same, I like how seriously the F1 broadcasts take themselves…it would make NASCAR look like a real sport if they copy the F1 broadcasts.

My favorite thing was in 2001 when Fox had the moving graphics (I don’t really know what else to call it) for the starting lineup. It was different, but as a new fan then, I thought it was pretty cool.

@TanDawg58 February 13, 2024 at 1:38 am

Hopefully Harvick being in the booth will control Bowyers mouth. The combo of Bowyer and rotating guest analysts really seemed to get to Mike Joy, because he really had to carry stuff.

Reply
@runrafarunthebestintheworld February 13, 2024 at 3:32 am

Yeah and last year they really had no choice but to have a rotating booth. Since they knew ahead of time Kevin Harvick would be in the booth in 2024.

@raydotterweich3927 February 13, 2024 at 2:36 am

100% agree … more long shots. In-car cameras were a cool new gimmick in 1983, but flipping between three different drivers’ in-car cameras doesn’t give the viewer the bigger perspective of what’s happening on track.
