Generally rules are much more relaxed on cable so they can get away with a bit more. Also overall regulations have been relaxed as well.

It was part of the agreement when they made the charter system. As a result, the point system was modified to a 35-1 system, with an additional 5 points to the winner for a total of 40 points to win the race, and 1 point apiece for 36-40 finishing positions.
