I’m positive it was entirely down to the track temperature. They used that one extra set from last fall and even they fell apart. There’s a cutoff point between last fall’s temp & Sundays temp where the track refuses to accept rubber. Water freezes at 30° so you’ll get very different outcomes if you put it in a 31° or a 34° environment, even though there’s only a 3 degree difference between them.

Umm it was because of the resin not binding to the race track, and I can assure you once the cars are rolling that surface is very hot,

Thats me, the fan of the 90’s.
My first race was July 1988 @ Talladega , if you’ve never been to Talladega in July well you don’t know heat. What my eyes did see .

I digress , I don’t feel we walked away from NASCAR , I feel NASCAR left us , they dropped us like a bad habit In search of green’r pastures .

The Corporations changed everything NASCAR traded its organic feel for bright lights and Hollywood and at times in the past it felt to me like a WWF Sunday evening live .

I think my last race was around 2011 Talladega , the Law had gotten so bad down there I saw a man on a golf cart get a DUI for crossing race way Blvd going from one camp ground straight across the rd to another .

I told myself then if this is the way it’s going to be , I’m not spending 2k to be possibly extorted by the statute enforcement .
NASCAR was already abandoning us changing the rules or this or that all the time .
Then a whole new car , it just got worse for us .

I’m very thankful I experienced this Era of NASCAR , I remember when you came on the scene Kenny , I wasn’t a fan but I became a fan of yours in the last 3 laps oh was it the spring race ? Talladega 2000 .
You put your big boy britches on that day .

Unfortunately I like so many made an Idol of Dale Sr, and Now being called to Yah’usha Ha’machyach by YaH and being shown my old sinful nature , sometimes I ponder if YaH didn’t call Dale home because we idolized him so and forgot to give Thanks to our Father YHVH and including him .

I digress once again . From being a native born southerner it didn’t go over real well that a driver from the south couldn’t get a ride in NASCAR if he had wal mart sponsoring him , that’s probably an exaggeration but not by much , seem like they were all prissy silver spoon fed .

Anyway , that’s my nickels worth.

Great you’re doing this podcast because I’m still not used to having you on the track. Great crew in the booth. You and Blaney were always fun to have during Xfinity races so that’s how I picked him as my driver after so many years following you. Wherever you are I’m learning something.
