@@WhopperJrWithCheeseF1 forever has been and forever will be not as exciting in wheel to wheel racing as NASCAR. Because NASCAR is pretty much a spec series, while F1 isn’t, so the car performance varies. NASCAR also throws stage cautions to artificially bunch up the field. There’s also the fact that RedBull got things right early on and have ridden their advantage ever since, while the other teams are scrambling to catch up to them.
Another point is reliability. Cars in F1 don’t blow up nearly as often as they used to, especially the top cars.
And the last point is the unreal driver that is Max Verstappen. The guy doesn’t put a foot wrong. He is a relentless machine. I don’t really like his racing style, but I think he’s up there with the greatest drivers ever, Fangio, Clark, Stewart, Lauda, Senna, Prost, Schumacher, Alonso, Vettel and Hamilton.
When you give a driver like Max a perfect car precisely tailored to his driving style, you have total domination.
In truth, F1 is an engineers sport. NASCAR has parted ways with the Smokey Yunick and Junior Johnson types a long time ago. In F1, these are the exact people who make the biggest difference.
Adrian ‘aero wizard’ Newey is the best example of that.
@@acegarcia3719tell that to Liberty Media, the American company that is ruining (sorry, I meant running) F1.
]]>@@etotherescue2010 Some people will go out of their way to watch a live race. I woke up early at least a few times just to watch international racing. I’m sure that there are many motorsports fans who would wake up earlier than normal to watch a race.
]]>That makes no sense. They don’t aire at the same time. I live in the West Coast. F1 start usually between 6-9am. NASCAR usually 11 maybe noon?
]]>Maybe it’s because they are desperate for a title race so they resorted to this. Imo
]]>@@leonardfrey5426Well yeah, it’s a worldwide sport, so it’ll probably remain top dog, however their on track production is certainly lacking compared to NASCAR.
]]>F1 is still top dog in racing.
]]>This year, I decided to give the sport a chance again, giving it a fresh start.
Weirdly, I feel like YouTube documentaries were the biggest reason I felt like coming back.
]]>Yes. Watching a race in person is a whole different experience. My wife who is not even a race fan loves going to a race.
