Lavar Scott, Austin Hill and Chris Buescher will be this weekend’s Talladega winners.

Yup, this was my thought too.
And one of those things where an organization cracks down hard all at once to send the message for everyone to immediately get their act together “or else.” But also carries a bit of a whiff of “…cause we don’t want to have to monitor this stuff that closely moving forward.”

I miss Stock car racing, these cookie cutter Matchbox cars with different car make stickers . I liked when you could actually tell the make of a car before ever getting up close to them.

Wish I could’ve gotten a better look. Was over in the upper section towards Turn 4. My dad and I probably would’ve seen it had it not been for this quartet of drunken idiots who wouldn’t sit down for about 80% of the race. Wouldn’t be surprised to learn they got busted for DUI after the race with how many Miller Lites they were pounding back.

The guy that got suspended was over the loud limit by NASCAR if there’s even any allowed in your system on the weekend Just as you can’t be drunk.

Last year Formula 1 cracked down on jewelry and piercings drivers could wear under their fire suits . I really LOL’d when a certain Mercedes driver told F1 he would need an exemption cuz he had a piercing that could not be removed. lol.

I think fastest pit stop was supposed to be when the car stops in their pit box or when the crew jumps over the wall to service the car, to the dropping the clutch and accelerating out the pit box. IDK if that is a standard metric used though. IndyCar and F1 have a metric for pit stops, along with many other series.
The more focus on the pit crews and pit stops the better!!! Pit statistics would be an awesome thing to keep track of each race!
I agree with both of your guys pick. But I’m just mainly pulling for the underdogs. Like a BJ MCLOUD,Justin Haley,Cody ware,Harrison Burton or a Ricky steenhouse or a Michael McDowell.
Unsure what the true reason was for switching to a single lug nut but it seems like more tires fall off now than before.so if safety was a reason then I think it’s a fail. I also really miss the sound of high rpm impact guns.
It’s because the manufacturers wanted 18 in wheels and they had to go to aluminum because of the weight and you couldn’t do five lug nuts safely with aluminum wheels that big on a race car
I honestly kind of want a point standings on the fastest pit crews. Track it the same way you would with the regular season without stages and it might encourage teams to get good pit crews. Yeah, no one would probably care that much about it, but it would make pit stops have higher stakes.
Bring back pit crew championships
I never liked the ideas of 1 lug nut wheel and after all these races under it belt. I still hate it.
I will add, the idea is cool. But how you separate parts failure or crew failure. Still haven’t seen a case when it been said it’s parts failure. Pit crew are getting the the short end of the stick with this one

I think a cool incentive for pit crews could be who ever has the fastest stop of the race can earn 1 playoff point towards driver/owner standings
