@@kg0173 F1 started matching them back in the 90s under Bernie Ecclestone so the top F1 driver wouldn’t go over to the Triple Crown, Monaco, Indy and Le Mans, and the Liberty Group is keeping it up. Back in the 50s, Indy was part of the World Driving Championship, and Monaco would be 2 weeks later, but the F1 only ha 6 races a season back then too.

I believe not every year the Monaco and Indy has been the same weekend.
With delayed Indy start a real Monaco-Indy double might be possible. Or they need the lights at Indy. And a fast plane.

I’d say that Larson is for sure my favorite driver but i don’t see why he couldn’t race the 600 and then go back Monday morning and race the Indy 500. He’s gonna lose some of my respect if he doesn’t go back to Indy to do the race. I understand the “double” is something that very few drivers have done but if i was Larson I’d worry about finishing both races as to worrying about running 1100 miles in 1 day.
