Honestly you could photoshop the NASCAR logo over Austin Dillon the Championship Trophy over the finish line at Richmond and it would sum up this penalty perfectly.

In reply to @mpf1947. @@davidlevins7646 Okay, so if a team runs the maximum number of races on that engine before teardown, and it's found to be illeagal, will they be penalized for all races it was used in? Alternately, how do you stop teams from taking advantage of "win and you're in" by running a blatantly illegal engine, and then intentionally blowing that engine up in the next race?

They don’t
W race winnings engine is sealed and must be inspected before being reused or rebuilt and it must only be put back in the same chassis it was removed from.
