NASCAR has raced at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for over 25 years now and in that time has become a staple of the NASCAR Cup Series schedule. With generally good racing and memorable moments there are a large amount of fans who now look forward to these races. For many though one stands out above the rest when it comes to memorability and that of course is the lone 2016 race at the Nevada track. Between great racing, a fun finish, and some of the wackiest weather ever for a NASCAR race how could anybody forget? So today we are going to look back at the weirdest Las Vegas NASCAR race.

Dale Earnhardt, jr. was and is one of the most popular athletes in all of not only NASCAR history but also sports history as a whole. With that being said it bears noting that the results he got in many years of his career did not match up to the popularity, especially in the early years of his tenure at Hendrick Motorsports. NASCAR is a treasure trove of weirdness. It doesn’t matter if it is the cars, drivers, tracks, situations, or anything else in between NASCAR can be very weird. Each track has some of these moments that just stick with people. For me, the biggest one of these for Michigan International Speedway always sticks in my mind from 2007. The 2007 3M Performance 400. This is the weirdest NASCAR race at Michigan and we are going to look into it and see just why it is so weird and also how it is so weird.
