@Mason Gaming What? Lol
I think we all watched this video just to see Richard Petty and his superbird
“The king has to finish his last race”
-Saetta McQueen
Thunderbirddd
??? I don’t understand what you’re saying because I don’t understand Italian
Since Petty would fill the stands track with spectators, Richard had a condition that track owners had to abide by allowing him to run an extra 30hp over the rest of the field. A win for the track owners and the “King.”
I thought it was Montgomery
@Jessica Alford Isn’t his name is Montgomery?

I’ve never seen a actual nascar race, but it was DEFINITELY different back then….in the king’s days
Τα παλια nascar ειχαν μια διαφορετικη αισθηση
Superbirds, Daytonas and Torinos, This is just too darn awesome.
And Cyclone Spoiler II.
Anyone know which motor has won more races. Super speedways?
Those were the days of REAL stock car racing.
I saw this race in person as a 12 year old, my first superspeedway race. I had to see those Superbirds and Daytonas with their wings. Coolest thing I have ever seen and still to this day my favorite Nascar memory. Sad moment though when my favorite driver Bobby Isaac blew right in front of me with 11 laps to go. I was sitting in the Ford grandstand he was going into turn 1 so I was sitting with the enemy. They loved it, it broke my heart until then I thought I was his good luck, he had won the only other race I saw earlier in the year at Martinsville. Miss those winged Dodge Daytonas and Plymouth Superbirds. They were so cool.
48 races in 1970
8 wins for the Superbird
4 wins for the Daytona
4 wins for the Talladaga
4 wins for the Spoiler II
Ford withdrew from racing the year prior. Ford teams were using year old parts and cars and still managed to win a few big fast races. Think about that
The rest of the wins were won using regular nosed cars
If Nascar was like this again, I would watch it. Real stock cars, gritty drivers, the winner circle was in the grass by the fence! Everything was raw and authentic. Make it like this again.
Can you stop says hate or says fall nascar because they not use stock model for me Nascar fall because race chase play off not because they not stock gen 4 Nascar is good car of tomorrow and gen 6 is fine for me for me many says Nascar fall or hate nascar because they not real stock car is overrated
I really like the design of these cars, man. They look so slick.
Wow, so clean…even photographers are close to the track
Wow, this is some INCREDIBLY high quality footage for 1970.
@Rick Sanchez u know , theres just no talking to u liberals . your last name gave it away .
It’s film. What do you expect.
@Press Start Were you born a dumass , or did you go to college to become one ?
Love the sound of those big block engines and real vehicles.
I first saw the 1970 Plymouth Superbird in Cars 2006, and I love that car! I wish Nascars today were more diverse like back then. Old racing cars had a style no modern race car has
If you go to the Petty Museum in NC you can see that superbird.
Haha…Cars….haha, kids!
This was the first race I ever attended at 10 years old! We went to the infield, and what an experience that was! Go-Go boots and miniskirts were the order of the day for the infield “ladies”, and the infield itself was a mud bog from rains the night before! Pickup trucks with scaffolding erected high in the sky made excellent perches for passed out drunks ! It was great stuff! I also remember seeing Marty Robbins driving in that morning through the infield road! I was hooked! That is until the following spring, when dad took me to Bowman Gray Stadium and I saw the modifieds for the first time! Never looked back after that night, and now in my 60’s, I still prefer a good old Saturday night speedway to the big leagues! Thanks for posting!
Sem dúvida categoria maravilhosa, época de ouro!
