People were more upset that they threw the caution and chase didn’t win than Brad flying into the fence and the whole crags that happened at the front of the field

I’m just a casual fan but I follow all kinds of racing. I love NASCAR because it’s the only series besides NHRA wherein a kinda-fat guy can pull wins. Respect to the portly gentlemen out there puttin’ in laps.

Ketamine Kyle February 15, 2021 at 6:01 am

I love how when theres a bunch of wrecks people complain about the cautions and it being a demo derby but when theres actual clean racing almost all the way through people complain about it being too boring. Do people actually expected these guys to drive like idiots for 500 miles just to put on a good show? They dont go single file because theres no other choice they do it cause its smart cause thats how you put yourself in position to win these races

Reply
CrazyDash February 15, 2021 at 5:58 pm

I enjoy a mix of both. That’s what makes racing so enter

@Run Rafa Run #THEBESTINTHEWORLD No it did not. 2014 500 probably still the best 500 of the 2010s. They raced super clean at the front until the final lap.

@AllaboutheWaves LoL they had the worst package though. They barely couldn’t pass.

Reply

Single file racing isn’t clean. It’s not racing at all.

Do you think racing will be allowed in 2031? If something doesn’t change our communist government will have eliminated gas cars and gas by then. Maybe they can build and electric car that can travel 500 miles by then.
Let’s go Brandon.

Good thing that everyone was able to walk away from that last lap crash. Those flames made it look really bad.

Reply
The Wild Bunch Cycling February 16, 2021 at 2:56 am

I understand the trauma. But sparks are different to an explosion. I was amongt those who realized the Grosjean explosion was potentially a deadly one, and in tears and prayers as an atheist on second 2 of the long wait. I remember it took many a while to kick in to that realization. I mean those 23 seconds where the longest we have seen in recent years. But in Nascar, they already worked harder to prevent those old fireballs, plus i think the EMR is doing an amazing job too. Something F1 should have learned from a long time ago. Anyway. In Nascar and Indy its that last corner exit that worries me most. The pit lane entry crashes are stopping a car instantly. But a spark and a flame at high speed on a nascar is not anything to worry about. Hope people won’t be too traumatized every time there are a few flames. Remember the racers that got killed with no flames. Its just as horrible and we know that and pray every time a crash happens that everyone gets out.

@The Wild Bunch Cycling Atheists don’t pray

Reply
The Wild Bunch Cycling February 16, 2021 at 7:11 am

@Alka-Seltzer ManagerThat is when you see the world in the boxes that we created. I am an atheist, and i prayed to something out there for Romain to survive. So please don’t tell me or anyone what to believe and what is what, when i do not believe in a god as an entity, but i believe in spirit as in aether. You can call it whatever you like. But one can pray as an atheist as one chooses.

8:40 this looks eerily similar to Dale’s wreck 20 years ago. The fact Brad was able to walk away from that under his own power is a great testament to the safety improvements nascar has made since then.
