Michael McDowell has won the 2021 Daytona 500 after Joey Logano made contact with Brad Keselowski out front, causing them to spin out and wreck the field as McDowell maneuvers past for the victory. It was the first career Cup victory for McDowell.

It was great to see McDowell win! Always love the underdog!
@Merlin Been It’s NASCAR and it’s the Daytona 500. When it comes down to those final laps, you’ll do what needs to be done to get the win. Everyone is going to be bumping & drafting off of each other down the stretch. That has ALWAYS been the case in racing in general. Even more so in restrictor plate races. McDowell did nothing wrong.
@ridge runner yeah I saw it live he pick up speed just to make them crash

@sfmasterupfront because he didn’t
@sfmasterupfront you must be new to racing in general and very new to nascar…
Busch obliterated Keselowski, then Cindric came in and annihilated Busch. Those guys took the hardest hits.
they got absolutely smoked

It reminds me of Romain Grosjean in Bahrain Grand Prix…
@Justin Connor Yeah I don’t like Kyle Busch but I was genuinely worried with how long it took him to get out of his car.
So happy everyone’s okay, especially Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski and Bubba Wallace. Congratulations to Michael McDowell on the upset win!
That’s how these races go. 95% nothing and at the last 5% chaos. Happy for Michael. Great win for him and that team.
idk, they barely did the single file bs last year, was lowkey surprised to see this tn
@Joey G it was because 15 cars were wrecked on lap 15 lmao, if that wreck didnt happen, i bet there would be less single file
@Mike Keller ofc, if there was 30+ cars it wouldve been great
Not true
Fall Dega race in ’20 barely had single file
And the 500 last year was the same
How much of a fan are you lol
@Nick ______ Sure did
Glad to see a guy who’s been around so long get his first win, especially in the Daytona 500
@forcingfate
Guess if it had been your gur you would have called it hard racing.
How and where is extra. Got that dub.
@Mos’ Nefarious yes
@Dante you don’t just “let up” at a track like Daytona in the position he was in, let alone the final lap entering turns 3 and 4, tf? Lol.
@Daniel Blaise bro this was a year ago. Let it go lmao
Can we appreciate Ryan Preece’s dodging abilities in this race? lol He got clipped in this last one, but still limped it across the line.

Breakout season ?
@Keith Miller Jr I’ve never really been able to sit through a race but I did watch the end of the 2019 500. Watching Preece wheel his way through two or three big wrecks made me an instant fan
@JRC99 Same here man! His dodging skills impressed me enough
I’ve been saying that for a while
Glad to see everyone climb out of those cars, that wreck was awful. And congrats to the man Michael McDowell.
Amazing the safety these guys have! Sucks the sacrifices we have seen to make it this way.

@Charles F1 are not stupid enough to use a concrete retaining wall or he would have died.
Even though I don’t like Kyle Busch, how long he took to get out of his car really worried me.
Thankful to be seeing that drivers involved in the final lap crash were more or less physically ok.
Quite a testament to the safety engineering NASCAR has in place.
Hats off to NASCAR for the safety instilled in these cars! Great 1st win for McDowell!
What are your thoughts on Michael McDowell’s victory?
If he didn’t bump the driver infront of him Would’ve not caused the wreck
gorgeous
@Michael Raftice Too nice like Mark Martin was maybe
Pushed GOATselowski in fornt of him and wrecked Logano
It’s nice to see him win that race. So many drivers never get a win at all. Glad everyone was ok after the crash as well.
Now he will be known for more than his spectacular crash at Texas many years ago in qualifying.
I had passed out but woke up right on the last 2 laps. Congrats McDowell! Never give up.
1:44 Seeing the crew celebrate gives me goosebumps. That’s what it’s all about!
I’m a Chase Elliots fan but I’m glad to see Michael McDowell get his first career victory. He’s always been onna the back of the pack drivers and it must be amazing for him to get his first win at Daytona.
EEK!! That large explosion is one of the worst things I’ve ever seen in a Daytona 500 finish since the end of the 2001 Daytona 500 race! My dad and I saw this race on TV last night and we were shocked! It’s great to know that everyone involved is alright, but next year’s Daytona 500 should have a much better ending.
@CEO100able I take it English isn’t your native language
@CEO100able the 2020 Daytona 500 Crash was wayyyyyyyyyyyy Worse than this one. Trust me 2020 was worse than this one I’m not lying
Guys stop being rude to him. Obviously y’all read the comment wrong. He said “That large explosion is ONE of the worst thing’s I’ve seen since the 2001 Daytona 500 last lap”.
Logano and Keselowski wrecked from the lead on the last lap, best Daytona 500 ending ever.
Should’ve seen when Juan Pablo Montoya took out the Jet Dryer back in the 2012 Daytona 500.
95% nothing and at the last 5% chaos
@Zoltan Till u say that as Max is now leading the championship lol
Well considering a lot of the favorites were wrecked in the first stage…
Speedway Racing.
This kind of racing is a chess match man.
Always has been.
@Zoltan Till f1 cars can take a corner
@Thijsss stoer nascar can too
Wow. Big Crash! And Congrats McDowell!!
After his horrific crash in Texas in 2008 I’m glad Mcdowell was able to prove himself and get such a great milestone! Well done!
