Met Kasey Kahne at Kansas in 2006! Solid dude, was apparently really good with an 8 year old boy. Great to hear he is racing full time!
@DefenciveSide not using the lords name in vain also important
@Cory G wow I am on nascar YouTube
I met Kasey in Kennesaw GA at an autograph session. Great guy
@Riley Mobley Sounds creepy right?
@Cory G shut up flanders
Everytime i show someone NASCAR who is not familiar with it you always get the comment “Woah the M&Ms car!” “Yo theres an M&Ms car?” “I like the M&Ms car” it is i would say the most iconic paint scheme in nascar in the past decade. Such a shame they’re leaving.
Kasey Kahne was my favorite driver as a kid! He’s why I still root for the 5 car, which panned out this year ahahah
M&Ms has always been a part of NASCAR since 1998 where Ernie Irvan started at Las Vegas. Ken Schrader, Elliott Sadler, and David Gilliland also have driven the M&Ms car. Kyle Busch has been the candy man since 2008. M&Ms had a wonderful run in NASCAR. I’m gonna miss it.
Something interesting in regards to the M&M’s sponsorship is that before David Gilliland and ultimately Kyle Busch, M&M’s was the sponsor for drivers who were nearing the end of their Cup careers (Ernie Irvan, Ken Schrader, Elliot Sadler)
And PHELPS ran them off. How much damage is Phelps going to implement before he’s finally FIRED?!?

Even though I’m not a Kyle Busch fan, it’s sad to see sponsors like M&M’s, Skittles, and Snickers leave the #18 car after so many great paint schemes they’ve had similar to how Mountain Dew left NASCAR at the end of 2020. I’m assuming we’ll still see sponsors like Interstate Batteries and I heard there might be more races with this sponsor for 2023 along with a few others like SportClips Haircuts, Stanley Tools, or possibly Rowdy Energy hopping onto Kyle Busch’s #18 car.
11w see q
@XenonStriker003 Kyle Busch founded/owns Rowdy Energy Drink.
@XenonStriker003 Church is President of the company, not the owner.
They are trying to kill this sport because its 95% white conservative..
Cool to see Kahne doing full time. He’s the whole reason my favorite number is #9
M&M’s retire remember when Lowes leaving Jimmie Johnson, this marked the end of a Era. I watch Kyle Busch in M&M’S since 2008 and this shocking me.
I remember listening to Michigan’s radioactive from earlier this year
“Pushed the dumbass out front and (expletive) gave him the win. Your Welcome”
-Kyle Busch, 2021
He said that because he knew that the 550 package would help Blaney keep the lead due to it being hard to pass
I would like to see Hershey’s make a return, Reese’s right now has some presence in ARCA but I don’t know if they’ll be back
All owned by the same company.
M&M’S leaving Nascar is sad. The reason i got into Nascar was because when i was a kid, I saw Kyle Busch in the M&M’S car on track, after that, I immediately was hooked to Nascar because of the M&M’s car. Sucks that there leaving. 🙁
Same but for me it was Terry Labonte and Kellogg’s
I don’t pull for Kyle Bush but he is a damn good drive.
Great point about kids seeing the car. My eight-year-old was instantly drawn to the M&M’s car. I remember the old 29 Cartoon Network car as a kid. And Kellogg’s with Terry Labonte. You would think sponsors like Mars and others would want the brands on these cars.
It’s nice to see Kasey race again I’ve always liked the guy hope he does well I wish Kahne good luck!!
Also 670hp HIGH HORSEPLAYERS LOW DOWNFORCE THIS IS GOING TO BE AWESOME!!
I can see the concern with loosing a kid friendly sponsor. Growing up in the ‘90’s my favorite driver was Bill Elliott in the #94 McDonalds car. And while it’s cool to see them still around the days of their special paint schemes are long gone. The Mac Tonight black scheme is still one of my favorites all these years later, and I may still have the die-cast version somewhere.
I never really got used to Mars on that car, the #18 car is always the Interstate Batteries car first and foremost in my mind.
That being said, M&M’s basically saved the #18 team from the brink of collapse. The team was running out of money as Interstate Batteries was paying peanuts compared to FedEx and the Home Depot. Coach Gibbs was back in the NFL, and there wasn’t really any movement toward improving the situation. This is what caused Bobby Labonte to quit, and why JJ Yeley never had a chance in that car. When Mars finally came aboard in 2008 after Gibbs re-retired from the NFL, they paid a whopping 6x more, thus Interstate’s existing contract, which got them all 36 races in 2007, was only enough money to buy 6 races in 2008.
Nascar took a step in the right direction. I still miss the Nascar of the 1990’s with 800hp packages in the cars. I also miss the old points system that rewarded consistency and wins. Just my opinion.
My very first nascar memory was as a 4 year old watching Elliott Sadler flip the M&M’s 38 car at talladega in 2003. That’s where my love of Motorsport began.
It was my favorite car because m&m’s were always one of my favorite candies. To say the sponsors don’t influence fans is a severe understatement.
This may just be the beginning of the end for nascar.
Good to see Nascar making changes for racing product. Though people need to realize HP is not the solution to good racing. 100 extra HP and less downforce is a combination change
Great explication, appreciate the update. I’m curious to see how this nex gen car is gonna behave.
I think we will see more sponsors leaving to pursue other, less expensive, means to advertise. Yes it is sad but NASCAR isn’t what it once was and the costs of sponsorship have skyrocketed.
