This is a horrible incident this is like the new Hampshire rain incident but 100 times worse it was at a banked corner and it started raining and everyone wrecked the 99 and 47 nearly flipped because of how bad it was
@the average Godzilla enjoyer Ah you’re good, I don’t suppose an opinion can really be wrong. Debating on the internet just makes the delay go faster.
And those cars were up to speed as well
@SLIXS It actually is their fault, because instead of having a spotter in each turn who could’ve called in rain, which in turn would flip a switch and turn the cautions lights on; we wouldn’t have seen this mess. There was rain all around the track on top of it. It was raining in the grandstands for God sakes. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out if it’s raining in the stands, it’s probably heading for part of the track really soon. Especially a track as big as Daytona.
@Cee Infiniti oh yes. Kyle Busch, the voice of reason for everyone and everything NASCAR.
Looks like a nascar heat wreck avoidance challenge of how that wreck started
@NASCAR and Fried Chicken lol me too
That’s how Austin Dillion made been practicing on heat not iracing. If it was a iracing looking wreck it would be the whole field except 1 car
I would love to see those challenges in the newer NASCAR games like in the good ol’ Thunder games that had challenges from real life into the game.
It literally made nascar Heat look realistic
Man,
Bubba was in the position. He was right ahead of Dillon. Just lost it on the apron.
If Dillon wins it would be quite the shocker. Another race that was in a sense “given” to him. To be fair though. He could have won the coke 600 this year
Dillon won, under green flag conditions. And Bubba still managed to finish the race, just shy of the top ten.
Bubba was a lap down due to being swept up in a wreck during the previous caution.
@Devin C maybe because no cars were left lol.
@One Slave my guess is your the racist
At the track, we felt the slightest drops right before the crash. Was rooting for Jones but a bad string of laps and now this. Glad Stenhouse didn’t go over.
I was sitting in 336, the timing was crazy!
Yea I was there and during the race there were point were we felt drop but non on the track but I felt some right after they Dillon passed us during the caution lap
@Brandon no way, i was in 336 as well!
As nascar has stated before with the whole kyle Bush rain incident, they said they have people in all of the turns. So where is the communication now? Nascar knows showers are in the area, ONCE AGAIN, but we are still green flag? It’s all about the views and the drama that unfolds. Who has to pay? The viewers/recording, the cars that go into the corner into a rain shower? That crash brought back some old memories. Nascar has lots of cameras…..ALOOOOT OF CAMERAS!!! Sorry Nascar, you failed you team again….
Debby got hurt too. Why he is not going to run the Xfinity race today.
That looked like a NASCAR Heat 4 crash avoidance challenge
I’d like to see Hamlin’s car damage in more detail. That looked massive
Me too. That front end looks destroooyed
@Michael McDonald because Cup series doesn’t want the Supra.
someone on twitter has audio from his in car radio and it’s not good. If you haven’t been watching all the races this year, this new car has been awful on the energy these drivers are taking. Kurt is still out with his head issues. Logano said he’s never been this sore and worst headaches ever. Harvick called it unsafe to drive at Michigan to Claire B. I can go on. You get the picture. The 11 audio is very scary. He screams in pain and almost sounds half out of it before going on about the pain he was in. This is why NASCAR should’ve had more common sense with rain all around the track. It was on radar and in the grandstands.
@jamie thornton they throw the caution for that pop up shower in the turn and you will have complained that the track is dry (because for the most part it was) and NASCAR threw the caution for nothing and was being way too cautious. Easy.
“The 47 has no grip because hes 7 feet in the air”
At 2:30, you can see how close the 47’s rear end ALMOST got to the catch fence.
HE HAS THE GRIP OF DALE SR
Suarez looks like he hit hard. Those other cars slowed his momentum down thankfully
thank goodness everyone is OK but Nascar you need to go back to learn how to throw the caution flag at the right time for rain. I hope Daniel Suarez will do great in the playoffs, huge #99 fan right here.
What??? No one blamed Chastain yet?
That would be so cool to see Austin Dillon take it take it all the way for a championship this year ! I’m rooting for a underdog this season !
It would help highlight the flawed chase
did not earn that win
This is different from New Hampshire, kind of. I just feel like when cars are going this fast on a surface thats so sensitive that it will send all the leaders to the fence that fast . when weather is a threat have officials a certain distance from the track ( 1/4 mile or so ) and they throw the caution when they get wet. when ever you load more than half the running cars in haulers because everyone crashed do to rain.. someone dropped the ball. imo
Chase Elliott tweeted “it’s not raining in Bristol”, lol way to keep it light
Was watching this at work live. Everyone watching was shocked. Crashes are normal, but this pileup was something else.
It’s amazing how just a slight reduction in traction instantly sent almost everyone spinning.
“well the 47 has no grip because he’s 7 feet in the air” LMAO
Suarez catching the car on the apron and whipping it back up the track brings back scary memories
That was no Big One. That was the Great One. A car almost flipping over and very few cars to make it through the carnage. By far the biggest crash I’ve witnessed in the past years
That 99 reminded me of Sr’s angle and scared the hell out of me.
