Larson has so much potential. I hope he ends up at Hendrick at some point.

I heard he may be going to the ARCA series to get a bit more experience then move his way back up thru the trucks, xfinity and back up to cup at some point

@DustinRZR1000 I don’t think so. I think he needs some more local short track experience before going into arca. There’s already a bunch of kids in arca wanting to wreck every car they see. No need to add a potential new one

Yep, that’s what he did yesterday, twice. Nice timing, NASCAR!

Formula 1: “we have 2 second pit stops.”
NASCAR: “Sideways! No, SLIDEWAYS into the pit box!”

Ok, we’re going to one lug nut, BUT, we’re eliminating the pit row speed limit. Can you imagine.

@Brendan Cooperider I hope they bring this back, it was pretty fun to watch.

@SurrealCereal really was, just at least make sure this year’s format is abolished completely

@SurrealCereal nah never will. Bill Elliot’s pit crew got crushed and killed on live tv when there were no limits.

SurrealCereal November 9, 2021 at 4:03 pm

@Regular Guy Fixes Mike Rich’s accident was a bit different, here there’s only one car pitting, and nobody hops over the line until their car is completely stopped. not the same as a crowded pit lane in 1990.

If you’re gonna get penalized for too fast entering, better to do it in style!

It’s NASCAR Qualifying so no Penalty. Time was still running at that point

Wouldn’t have thought those things had a reverse gear, just on general principle.

Reply
Dillon Ventola November 23, 2021 at 5:00 pm

Believe or not most race cars are required to have a reverse gear per the rules of thier sport. From F1 to drag cars.

Reply
Michael Jordan November 24, 2021 at 8:19 pm

i mean what happens if they need to like, reverse?

For those questioning the speed in pit row, this is during qualifying, as he is the only one on the track, he can enter the pits as fast as he wants, it counts towards the qualifying time so it is imperative they enter as quick as they can.

@Nick Akers He wasn’t even in the slightest. He was JUST speaking facts. High horsepower + rear wheel drive in a circle = nothing in comparison. It’s like trying to compare sweep picking on guitar to just picking 1 string very fast and saying they both took the same skill.

There’s a huge difference from throwing out facts/being blunt, and just being prejudice. It’s a well know fact that Nascar is it’s own genre in the racing world. Nothing “high strung” about that, nor does that = talking down to it.

I just watched another video of a Nascar out on the track (not in a race), came in for a pit very fast but stopped right at the yellow line. All the while the pit crew is ALREADY stepping out running in front of his car trusting the driver to stop in time. If what happened in this video happened there, they could have gone splat. Yeah you could say they would have seen him going too fast coming up or seen the tires burn rubber, but not if it’s at that sweet spot that makes it hard for them to tell he’s not already ready to brake like he should be, or if he’s gonna brake slightly too hard too fast.

This dude may have just barely pushed his tires over their load limit during the pit to burn some rubber. Regardless of how fast you go coming up to it, you need to be going a good speed for the tires under hard braking like that when aproaching the pit entrance. As a driver you should know where that braking sweet spot adjusts to as you change your speed.

@James Moore He wasn’t toxic even in the slightest. He was pointing out facts in a neutral way. You’re actually the ones being toxic by getting irritated over his fact drop. Being blunt with facts, does not equal toxic. It’s JUST being blunt. It’s a widely known fact that Nascar is it’s own racing genre. Rwd and lots of horsepower in a straight line skipping the slowing down and speeding back up without losing traction outside of pits. Like, during the racing, while turning /passing. It is very different racing. To each their own on what they enjoy to watch, but F1 IS the more proffesional genre to watch. Notice I didn’t say “better”. Stop putting words in people’s mouth and just accept you like the more easygoing stuff. Yes there’s alot of skill in terms of keeping the car stable as the tires wear, it’s still not the same as a RWD F1 car trying to do the same mid sharp turn/pass.

Even with Drag racing. Yeah they’re just going in a straight line, but you gotta take off in that RWD without spinning too much or spinning out. Speeding up from lower speeds and out of sharp turns in rwd is way more exciting for me personaly. Like I said, to each their own.

We can point out those differences, without being prejudice.

@Connor Stapleton Name 1 F1 driver that has done well behind the wheel of a stock car. It seems it’s much easier for drivers to transition to cars that have more grip than for drivers to transition to cars that have less grip. Probably why the best stock car drivers started on dirt and the best drivers are Finns.

@Connor Stapleton Anyone ever tell you why your parents left you? NASCAR and F1 can’t even be compared they are two entirely different sports. How about you get off of the internet and get a life.

@hi_c.v7. In qualifying for f1 you usually have a one shot qualifier, Where you don’t even have the chance to pit.

For everyone wondering this was during the all star race qualifying they would do 1 lap, then enter the pits the next lap do a pit stop and complete that lap the person with the fastest combined run got the pole
