In 2017 young Daniel Suarez was embarking on his first NASCAR Cup Series season with Joe Gibbs Racing and the #19 Toyota. But it did change for the worse after longtime Carl Edwards sponsor Subway pulled their sponsorship for one of the dumbest reasons. This is Suarez Vs Subway.

All because of Stage Racing. Carl Edwards retired because of it which is what The Iceberg thinks and likely most of his viewers like me
I think the final run into turn 1 at homestead is what made Edwards retire. After being tied with Tony in 2012. That was next closest run to the championship he had in the bag until NASCAR called that caution. It’s a shame. We all miss Carl.
@FARCA It’s probably a combination of things because why would Carl Edwards retired after a good season? There has to be multiple reasons.
@FARCA That was 2011 he and Stewart raced for the championship.
Don’t you mean *”Sooubway”*
yeah lol
Thanks subway! You cursed Kevin Harvick
Subway is way beyond WOKE and their sandwiches are awful.
Jared Folge was no better
Subway would likely have never left NASCAR had Carl Edwards not retired before the 2017 season. Carl Edwards and Subway were a great combination. Who knows, if Carl had retired after the 2020 season, Subway could have went straight from Joe Gibbs Racing to Stewart Haas Racing and Kevin Harvick for the 2021 season.
Kinda funny that Kevin Harvick is sponsored by Subway, because at one point his one boss Tony Stewart was sponsored by Subway and also Harvick had a long relationship with rival sandwich chain Jimmy John’s (also I don’t think Jimmy John’s sponsors anyone at the moment, since they are no longer sponsoring Harvick and they haven’t been on WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar’s wrestling gear for a few years now)
That is probably the dumbest reason why a sponsor has dropped a driver… Because one: it was NBC’S fault Suarez was passing out Dunkin, two: it was a bit and three: Dunkin Donuts and Subway don’t necessarily compete, Dunkin Donuts sells donuts and coffee and breakfast items, Subway sells sandwiches and stale cookies… This isn’t like how McDonald’s and CreditOne Bank dropped Kyle Larson after his incident and this isn’t like how Mars candies decided to pull out of motorsports forcing Joe Gibbs Racing to drop Kyle Busch or how GM Goodwrench left Kevin Harvick and Richard Childress Racing because General Motors decided to drop the GM Goodwrench Service brand or how Chip Ganassi Racing was forced to drop Ross Chastain because DC Solar was a Ponzi scheme
We can at least be grateful that neither Taco Bell or Chipotle decided to replace Subway as Daniel Suarez’s sponsor at Joe Gibbs Racing (because a Mexican restaurant sponsoring a Mexican driver would have been too on the nose)
