NASCAR’s 75th season is right around the corner and with it we fans have plenty to look forward to on the track. With it being this big of a season and NASCAR’s base being as big into the history of their sport as any other fans a look or many looks back at what has come before. Today I give a couple of my picks for this, this is how NASCAR can celebrate its 75th season.

Ty Gibbs might actually celebrate by getting into a fight.

@That one Jeff Gordon fan. I wonder who’s he going to fight? Harvick? Logano? Elliott? Larson?

@Ayden Plays roblox Won’t happen.

This season I agree with mixing it with the broadcasts. The racing it it what it is. But there’s no Benny parsons left. Having a Bill Elliott car an Dale Earnhardt Rusty Wallace cars spread out. I’m guessing you missed espn rating of 70s 80s and 90s drivers. You can do schemes but if the racing suck it sucks like Atlanta

I would really want throwback weekend to be completely throwback. Throwback FOX graphics, throwback commercials, and of course, throwback paint schemes

They can’t do throwback commercials,

But I think they can do throwback bumpers

Agreed!

This would actually make the commercials watchable.

@Timechanger ! I’m not sure I think this argument holds up; we live in a world where stores like Aeropostale and Pacsun sell clothes with throwback looks to this new generation, so I think they like paying homage to what came before them.

In addition, I think an older graphics package would be a nice, subtle callback to how NASCAR got here that does not interfere with the on-track action.

If nothing else, it would at least be worth a try.

Agreed. I feel like the throwback on-screen TV graphics have been done before. But that would be a cool touch. I don’t have any suggestions on how to make throwback weekend special. But it doesn’t feel special. I want it to feel like something. But it’s not my job to figure out how to do that.

For NASCAR’s 75th Anniversary, they should showcase their old cars at short tracks as a pre race show, have throwback paint schemes that ain’t just at Darlington, and play some old music at the infield stands.

Someone might not be able to do throwbacks based off sponsorship though too not sure.

That also should happen before the Daytona 500. Also, a parade of some of the greatest cars ever seen by NASCAR, just like the 50th Daytona 500.

75 great years of beautiful automobiles going fast and this year is gonna be just as great.

Let’s “throwback” to when Drivers earned their seat based on Talent instead of kids related to corporate sponsors/owners Purchasing seats.

Maybe that happens again in 2025 and beyond if teams get the increase in revenue Sharing they in talks with NASCAR about

During NASCAR rain delays and pre shows, NASCAR can air some of the best races in NASCAR history or show the best race on every NASCAR track. Maybe bring back some of the most iconic cars. Like have a gen 4 car, gen 5, the cot with the wing, maybe a car from the 80’s to do pace laps before the race. Also relive some of the sports most iconic moments like Dale Earnhardt’s Daytona 500 win and Jimmie winning his 7th championship.

I remember the 50th Anniversary season in 1998 so well. I started watching in late 96 and watched most of 1997 but 1998 was the first season I watched from the Daytona 500 in February to the Napa 500 at Atlanta in November. That season meant so much to me. Sure Jeff Gordon, who I disliked a lot back in the day, won 13 races but looking back on it, it was a great season all around. The promotion NASCAR did for the 50th was amazing with throwback clips during each race and the 50th themed merch. Thats what I want to see. I’ll be at the Daytona 500 and all of Speedweek in a couple of weeks and I am really looking forward to what they have on display at the midway and inside the Fanzone.

I think the best thing that could ever happen on an anniversary season is the return of one of the original short tracks that was on the 1949 schedule which is of course North Wilkesboro Speedway for the All Star Race. NASCAR NEEDS to take advantage of that weekend and celebrate the 75th Anniversary as best as they can. The track is a literal time capsule and it will be amazing to see again in 2023. I just missed out seeing the final race there in 1996 so its going to be so cool to see a race from North Wilkesboro Speedway live on TV.

I would love to see older graphics I grew up watcing nascar so I love the nostalgia of looking back and seeing the 2010s graphics and would enjoy seeing the 00s graphics as well. My first race I was shown was the 04′ 500 and that’s when I was a year old so yeah bring back old graphics. I’m all for going all in with the 75th anniversery because who knows what this sport will be in 25 years so celebrate now while we as fans have a chance.

I 100% agree with the old paint schemes coming back every race because I’m a very new fan only been watching 3 years and something I enjoy is looking at the paint schemes each week on the nascar app it’s something for newer fans to follow and get involved

I really hope NASCAR and the broadcasts do a good job at marketing the sport’s 75th season. This could be another huge year for the sport if they get things right.

Legendary cars, legendary paint schemes, legendary commentators, and legendary racing will make the 75th season absolutely legendary.

One thing i’d love, is to bring back the cable-suspended camera on Daytona’s trioval.

IMO, that camera angle was one of the best angles ever made in all of motorsports.

A throwback broadcast with Mike Joy, Larry McReynolds, and DW would be great. Have old ticker graphics or old pit reporters come back. I would love it. I can’t wait for this season. I think it’s going to be really special.
