I gotta say, I’m impressed with the increase in quality of the NASCAR YouTube Channel’s highlights.

the lack of a crowd in the stands really shows what most of us think about this venue.the winner is determined more by luck than skill or stratagy of the team.

nascar advertised to fans who bought tickets that the event +heat races would be starting at 8PM EST, so an awful mistake on nascar’s part

@17 there were so few they coulda called them personally.

Clearly u don’t know racing in general. TF!

Stock cars aren’t meant to race on a go kart track

Back then the cars had horsepower and dudes who knew how to race. This stuff today sucks.

It’s sad to see the decline of fans in the crowd, I remember races in the early 2000s when truck, nationwide and the cup were always packed with fans even when the cars would practice akd qualify the crowd was packed

This the heat races they don’t advertise them as much, most people come for the main show.

Why doesn’t nascar just go to the heat race lcq format for all races. Way more entertainment

I went to Bristol in 2003 to 2007 they use to have like 20,000 people there for a qualifying day but again that was the sport at it’s almost best

@Steve’s Channel Nah. It was very hard to find out the actual Heat times, and I had a ticket. Wasn’t filled, but a very respectable crowd once they all got in for the main event.

We’re the definition of a late-arriving crowd in LA.

nascar needs to bring back the old timers that made it exciting!!!!

Reply
JoShUa February 6, 2023 at 2:17 am

Nah, they’d like to make it hip with Cypress Hill and some dude named Wiz. All about entertainment and fans that don’t care about the actual racing.

Nascar needs to move this race back to Daytona. I’d much rather watch a shootout race under the lights at Daytona instead of this crap.

It’s only an exhibition race

Reply
Jim Bob February 6, 2023 at 3:15 am

Move it to N. Wilkesboro

You would have had many more fans at the rock or even a high school football game.

False sense of security. Last year’s attendance was mostly due to Super Bowl overlap. It’s also in downtown LA. Not exactly the beacon of stock car racing. Really feels like lates 90’s push to urbanize, which ultimately led to the decline we are in now

True. And wrestlemania I think is in LA people would rather watch world class people wrestle instead of cars going in an oval.

How embarrassing it must be for the drivers.

The number of people in the stands is pitiful and heart breaking to see. I remember going to races in the 60’s forward and the announcer’s in booth didn’t have to struggle to make a race interesting. Driver’s now couldn’t handle wide open racing for 400/600 laps or miles!!! They don’t have the stamina to last that long with true hard core racing without those stupid stages!!! Nascar do you want to increase your fan base?? Go back to real race cars that Driver’s had to drive and fight with like back when it was hard to get tickets for any race!!!! PRAISE GOD Dale Jr. made it possible for North Wilkesboro to race again!!I love that track and I love Bristol too but even more when Bristol was Dirt!! And I love Darlington before y’all screwed up Nascar and “fixed something that was NOT BROKEN “!!!

Clint bowyer has clearly never heard of the “ol’ switcheroo”

Reply
Matt Thomas February 6, 2023 at 2:36 am

I’m glad they finally decided to do a dirt format with heat races instead of the stupid stages though

Reply
Matt Thomas February 6, 2023 at 2:43 am

If you also notice this gives the smaller teams a better chance and you seen big names not making it in. That’s the way it should be

Ned Nobody February 6, 2023 at 2:56 am

Starting the Nascar Season in LA Ca. Is just wrong and shows just how far out of touch the Nascar Organization is. The lack of fans prove that.

In that wreck with Blaney, Gilliland and Bell, Pool would have been a better analogy, but what Mike Joy said also got the point across.

Wow! This place was packed with fans! The tickets sold out!!
