This is it, the final scheduled running of a race on the 2 mile speedway layout of the Auto Club Speedway. Today we look back at this race and other memories from the track and look ahead towards both the Xfinity race later today and the next week at Las Vegas.

What will it be called?????? Still auto club or will it be the California short track?
I’d say Auto Club though the rumor mill has said back to “California Speedway”
What track will replace Auto Club?
That’s the $1 million question
Maybe North Wilkesboro could get a points paying race back?
Did anyone happen to hear what happened to the 22 Shell Pennzoil Team Penske Ford Mustang in the final 40 laps ? He went from fast to an embarrassing finish.
Lost the handling and the car broke really loose for the last 2 runs
F
So apparently Bubba Wallace’s car overheated because he accidentally ran over a stray cat. Bad luck all around.
Are you being serious or is this a joke going over my head?
@jamie thornton If you don’t mind Clark, I’d like to try and refurbish this here car
Godspeed NASCAT
For those asking, yes I am being serious
@The Iceberg whoa… thanks lol

Why doesn’t NASCAR create a paid cable network & a streaming service (to augment a NASCAR NETWORK or the traditional networks’ coverage? Paying Subscribers getting commercial free races, too!
They can’t do that until the new TV contract This contract was signed in 2013 and started in 2015 and ends next year
11:56 From listening to the 24 scanner all race: Byron hit the wall early in the race and possibly bent the toe link. He would have speed for 10-20 laps and then fall apart on the long run because of it and countered with massive adjustments each pit cycle. Late in the race a tire went down in 3/4 and he hit the wall, and then was hit for speeding on pit entry. After the pit service and speeding penalty he said something broke in what he felt like was the left rear after the wall contact. From that point forward he was just trying to keep it on the track and stay in front of Blaney. I’m pretty sure fox never mentioned the wall contact early in the race or resulting handling issues, so without a scanner it probably looked like he fell off a cliff going from top 3-4 to 15-20th at the end of the race before ultimately loosing the tire and hitting the wall.
Looks like “ Cheddars #8 Free when Kyle wins “ with purchase of a meal. You gotta text for a promotion code
I’m doubling down! Kyle Busch isn’t going to win 8, it’s going to be 10!
Love the old CBS theme, if you can find the old TNN theme that would be awesome
My one Request is that for whoever buys a property at the middle of the backstretch inside wall, Put a little memorial to our Good Friend Greg Moore. He has one memorial in Maple Ridge BC, but nothing here in the states.
I didn’t see race, but I did get two old cars at an antique place in Greune tx, did see two Old Dale Jr., cars and even a Ward Burton car, but I took two of those.
Alright, I am back from BOTH the Cup and XFINITY races…and man, I had a lot of fun there despite being FREEZING, but it was worth it at the end!
I think Kurt Busch, Jamie Mac and Kenseth would be a better suit. I feel like Matt kenseth would open up a lot considering he has that sarcastic humor and they’re all associated with Roush too
Milwaukee Mile, Iowa, Pikes Peak, or the Rock. Any of those would be a cool move. RIP Auto Club…
I was at the race, my first since 1999. Stage breaks make a lot more sense in person versus watching on television. It was obvious that Chastain, Elliot and Busch had the best cars. And the snow on the mountains in the background was amazing!
I want to address the crowd attendance and stage breaks comments.. I was seated in the upper turn 4 area and the crowd felt full. Not gonna lie, I had a blast but I was in my seat probably half of the race and noticed a lot other people were as well. Between buying food, beer, using the bathroom (with long lines), taking pictures, talking on the phone, etc; I can kind of understand why on television the grandstands look empty because in person it felt very full. Equally I liked having a little space between groups, I would’ve been uncomfortable with a jammed pack crowd. Secondly stage breaks in person make way more sense than at home due to all of the breaks stated above. I kinda feel like we might be making a big deal outta nothing because our attention spans have decreased.
