This is probably the first real attempt of gamesmanship of the restart zone. With Las Vegas coming up, Phoenix after that and then Cota, we’ll probably be seeing this more often as time progresses. This is probably the ugly side of these restarts taking out competitors mid-field.
I think you’re correct. Sadly though, as you stated, it isn’t a pretty part of the sport at all. In poker they call that “slow rolling” and that is just what Joey did. It all comes around
