Wait so he will miss the next 4 races?

@Wyatt Holo yes if not more. I’ve had 2 broken arms and was out overall for 4 months. I guess it depends on the break and how bad it is.

I’m sure some driver contracts will be tweaked and have some new ‘restricted activity’ clauses added. Like Denny Hamlin had years ago about playing basketball, or Aaron Boone with the Yankees when he was a 3rd baseman.

Unlikely. Chase is a pilot. Are they also gonna tell him he can’t do that?

@LET’S TALK flying, like driving, is a skill and totally in the hands of the operator. Like Thurman Munson, the Yankees catcher from 70’s/80’s who died flying his plane. The Yankees knew he flew to and from Ohio and NY, but he was licensed and experienced in aviation.
Someone playing a pickup amatuer game of hoops or snowboarding as a novice DURING THE RACING SEASON when sponsors and your whole race team and their families are counting on you changes the scenario… a recreational activity where someone else playing can clumsily trip and fall or bump into you, causing an ankle or knee injury, etc is out of the control of that individual.

Let me be clear, I’m not being mean or blaming anyone. I’m only saying when an athlete is at that top level of his sport, earning ‘Most Popular’ Driver awards annually, earning millions, sometimes your personal recreation time during the season can be limited by your employer because of the ripple effect it could have throughout the entire organization. The term I learned years ago still rings true to this day in all aspects of life: “If it’s predictable, it’s preventable”.

I wish Chase a speedy recovery and a quick return to his seat in the #9 car and then to Victory Lane. I’m not a hater, I sincerely applaude people that succeed in their live’s goals and ambitions. I can also see the business aspect of things from both sides of the table.

It is so cool to see a bass pro 8 car under Junior’s ownership. It must really piss his stepmother off to see him with that number and sponsor.

He’s only been in 2 Cup races before. And had an AVGF of 28…

He’s had success in the XFINITY series tho.. excited to see what he can do.

Also hoping Reddick gets to drive a FULL race Sunday

So let me get this straight, snowboarding is more dangerous then driving a stock car at 195 mph at Daytona? Imagine that.

I’m still new to nascar but if he’s substituting for chase does that mean he gets the points for the race or does chase get them because that’s his car

Reply
Cherish Adventure March 4, 2023 at 3:25 pm

Josh gets the points for where he finishes and the team car owner also get the points for where they finish the race.

Reply
SG Gaming March 4, 2023 at 3:33 pm

@Cherish Adventureok, so what happens to chase does that mean he’s gonna be lagging behind when he comes back or the company gonna transfer the points they earned while he’s out to the company car?
