UK native Jenson Button may not have had firsthand experience with NASCAR, but all it took was one movie to get him hooked.

“Hit the Pace Car”
@Chris Hoyle Its a line from the movie.
@Chris Hoyle L
@Chris Hoyle “cause you hit every other damn thing out there so I want you to be perfect”
@J. P. Kelly I know I was quoting it

It’s a shame he won’t be driving the #46 City Chevrolet car.
I don’t think there’s a 46 car in the cup series anymore in general let alone for a Chevy team? But driving for Rick Ware isn’t bad either, they’re not a competitive team but they don’t finish in the back, they always finish in the top 15 or so which is fine and having support from SHR is gonna help Jensen and the 15 move up to at least a top 10 finish.
@Samuel Duplessis I’m sure he’d settle for another number so long as the livery from the movie remains.
He’ll be driving the Garage 56 car in Le Mans with Jimmie Johnson, which is a Hendrick Next Gen Chevy.
AWSOME BUTTON ON NASCAR!!!
Button has W taste
I want a sequel
Imagine if Tom cruise did the same thing to days of thunder as he did with top gun… I would cry tears of joy
Yep, love a sequel to that movie, I want to see where they take it tbh
Great movie, classic.
A bit pedantic, but the title should be “Jenson Button attributes love for NASCAR to ‘Days of Thunder.’”
He didn’t make Days of Thunder out of his love for the sport, he possesses his love for the sport because of the movie.
well. look at Marcos Ambrose – made a name in racing V8 Supercars touring car racing that raced on traditional racing circuits and street circuits – 2 time V8 Supercars champion. He would always be at the front for the street course races in NASCAR, and he was always finishing in the top 20 cars in all the NASCAR races he raced in. Near the end of his career he was finishing in the top 10 almost every race.
i’m droppin the hammer!
no you’re not!
VROOOOM…
We’re waiting TOM!
Fine humor there Jenson. Enjoy trying to be best at turning left.
