Man I feel sorry for who ever is leading a nascar race with 10 to go
@Jon Messenger you’re welcome. Just stating facts then. Also don’t like Burton at all and not a fan of Harvick either. How do you like that opinion?
I don’t understand
Why didn’t Harvick maintain the lead during caution?
@Devanarayanan H because him and his crew made 4 tire stop, while other drivers only got 2..
@Jeffrey Snipes was that pitstop compulsory?
Shouldn’t surprise you that teams with a car that has a chance of winning tells another team car to spin out to give the other car a better chance of winning during/after caution. Wether that be this race or any race
The ending of this race was crazy
Why waste hours watching a boring race when you can DVR it and watch the last few laps?
Willy B with back to back wins.
I don’t know what people are complaining about. The race was only average, but it left me satisfied from an afternoon. Heartbreaking end for Harvick, but those cautions were actually necessary. Overall, the race gets a 8/10. Good coverage by the MRN broadcast, but the overall racing wasn’t side-by-side almost wrecking the entire way, but you need races like that. Overall, I’m happy with this race.
@Nick Klavdianos I get it if you’re in the car maybe but as a viewer that pays to watch, that’s just boring. Can you imagine if superbike or motocross races or any other great motorsport ended like that? Just not worth watching. The only people that want a boring ending like that are teams in the lead because it’s an easy win. No one else wants that.
@Ric McClemons Slow moving car on the apron with a tire coming apart? They were a little trigger happy to call the caution, but it was ultimately the right call, so even in a world where NASCAR is more sport than show, the tire coming apart meant a caution would have flown anyway.
@J well, since you talked about great motorsports, here is a list of top racing categories that don’t do overtime.
IMSA
Indycar
World Endurance Championship
F1
F2
F3
BTCC
DTM
Australian Supercars
Basically every GT championship
Out of car focused motorsports, only NASCAR has overtime. And yes, it’s anticlimactic, but fair and I care more for fairness than a good show. The rules must first of all take note of what’s fair for the competitors, and not what’s good for the viewers. Also, if you reply, I would like to ask you, are you American?
@J well, you presume wrong. I asked because I find that American sports fans care mostly about the show while here in Europe people care more about sporting integrity. That’s the reason why the WWE is a thing and why NASCAR has overtime, competition cautions and playoffs. If for example, the BTCC said they would do playoffs like NASCAR, fans in the UK would riot. If saying based on evidence at hand that Americans care more about the show makes me a racist well I guess I am then.
It sucks that Kevin Harvick didn’t get his tenth Phoenix win, but I’m happy that William Byron got two wins in a row
He’ll get his 10th in November going out a 2 time.
Congratulations to the 24 team
I really loathe Kevin Harvick but I did feel bad for him in that one. He figured his line out and had a great car. You could tell at the end he was super disappointed. Hendrick strikes again.
Hate that I left the race at 44 laps to go will never live this one down!!! Wanted William to win from the get go!
You didn’t miss anything, it was a horrible finish, as usual, even if your guy did win.
He’s wrong^. Must be bitter about something. Most of the race was terrible as usual at Phoenix. But the finish was awesome.
Thanks for finding a way to make the stream on Foxnow work for the cup race today. Congrats to Byron. Terrible track for passing but that’s what made that win so impressive. Really amazing finish.
really not that hard to pass. first off, going into the restart zone if you are inside you can take it all the way down to the dogleg and gain some time on them, once you get to turn 1 and 2 you can ride the high side for a fast past or force the outside to slow down by having an offensive inside position. once you are down the backstretch you could take the inside lane while behind someone and force them to give you room and go wide on the entry to turn 3 and 4 giving you a good run (doesn’t always work) or you can take a high side pass and go into the corner a little later to be able to step on the gas earlier and gain some time in to be able to make a move in either the dogleg or the next set of turns. really just gotta actually get a feel of the track to really know what to do you know
It’s one of the best tracks for passing lol
Willy B in victory lane is a sight to behold! 2 straight!
I thought Kevin Harvick had this race won until the caution came out. Heartbreaking loss
Great race! Love going to PIR.
Soooo close for harvick!! Glad Blaney got a good finish though
that finish was awesome
I thought Blaney was going to have a run there at the end but hell of a block by Kyle at the restart
nice to have Patrick in the booth calling the race.
Harvick: “Checkered flag, here I come!”
Burton: “I’m gonna do what’s called a pro gamer move”
