Ohio stuff
I was at Ohio about a month ago.
I think, to be honest, that more 1½ mile tracks should be like a superspeedway.
@thiewes18racing With me, I more races like superspeedways and short tracks are my kind of style.
They could drop Pocono, Michigan, Loudon, Nashville SS and race at Daytona or Talladega 4 or 5 times a year
@Roy McDre I agree with Pocono because the races can get extremely boring, but just imagine how cool it’d be if they raced more at superspeedways.
I think one of the reasons why people want to see more SS races is bc of the current car.. If we had a decent package with high horse power/Low DF, racing would be way better overall.. As a lifelong Dale Earnhardt Jr fan, you don’t want more SS races.. trust me.. The majority of drivers & teams don’t really care all that much for these races bc it’s become such a crap shoot. Contrary to popular belief, SS races weren’t all that random in the late 90’s & early 2000’s. They’ve become so random with the evolving packages & newer breed of drivers, teams don’t truly enjoy it bc there’s a very small sense of control. NASCAR needs to desperately figure out the intermediate & short track racing..
I know some people are going to get hostile bc I’m going against what they think is “good” but trust me.. The SS deal was perfect before Atlanta.. A few exhibition races at Daytona early on followed by the 500 & then 3 more to finish off the year.. They should’ve never changed Atlanta.. Yes, they needed to repave but the bank change was a huge mistake, imo. The old Texas & old Atlanta tracks were true NASCAR. Low- grip, high power, sliding around, talent mattered way more.. Now it’s turned into hoping you chose the right line when pouncing on a run you’ve formed. It’s a HUGE mistake, imo
