Yea
great explanation, thanks!
Good change, I didn’t think it changed restarts or gave the leader much of an advantage, just caused a lot of confusion and stack ups.
Incoming oldheads saying “so many rule changes!!!!!” when this was a decision made by NASCAR after discussing it with the drivers lol
Nascar loves to fix what isn’t broken.
It literally was, did you see the stack ups at Auto Club
Great now take away the stages
What are they “looking for?”
They want the leader to have an advantage on the restart to maintain the lead, because they’ve earned it by being in first when the caution came out. With a short restart zone, the second place car can more easily guess when the control car will take off.
Instead of getting more exciting starts, the lengthened restart zone created pile-ups and poor restart management. Five races would be enough to see improvement, but there wasn’t.
Restart zones are one of the worst additions to Nascar ever made. Just gas it when you hit the line
This should be a valuable lesson for the “I hate change” crowd. Just because Nascar tries something new, doesn’t mean they can’t just simply go back if it doesn’t work.
They normally don’t, for instance, they won’t bring back a full year points system and more horsepower.
Can we revert back to Winston Cup championship format ? Without stages, playoff and also anoying endless restarts that causes useless crashes ? Thank you.
“Revert back” horrendously dumb as revert means “go back”. Fix it
