Glad he did this because now I’m aware of him. Super humble dude. Completely agree with him over the BS call. Great way to send a message to Nascar & to give your sponsor time.
@Foghorn Leghorn Because he was in an accident lmao
@Driversity And what was the purpose of the tape?
@Foghorn Leghorn To essentially keep the car together.
The tape came off, and furthered the caution.
NASCAR decided to throw him out for something as trivial as that, and punishes him the same as Bubba at Vegas.
@Driversity “To essentially keep the car together.”
Yep.
it help the sponsor recognition too
This man’s life has just changed drastically! Love to see it!
Good for him!
Don’t get too excited, he’s never been more than a mid pack driver
Cheers to Fox and race hub for highlighting this driver and his team, now jeers to fox and race hub for continuously NOT highlighting these small team’s that’s out there every weekend
This is better exposure, parking the car on the finish line than winning the race, Great advertising, I have never heard of his sponsor before, Now we all do.
NASCAR can pull that rule out of thin air for a backmarker car, because as fans we’re just used to those cars randomly going behind the wall, no controversy. The hypocrisy of it is that we as fans know damn well that they aren’t pulling that crap with a car or driver on a big name team because of the backlash it would cause. Josh pulling that move exposed NASCAR’s differential enforcement of it’s shady rule book.
It wasn’t out of the air. It’s literally in the book.
@Christopher Bouchard and it literally never gets enforced. Did they park Chase Elliot 2 years ago at the Roval when his team didn’t properly secure his rear bumper cover after Harvick wrecked him? That led to a caution. Same situation here. NASCAR didn’t even black flag him and force him to come in and fix it when it was flapping in the breeze. No, they just let him keep going until he lost it on the track. It’s double standards
For sure! Didnt Dale Jr win a 500 because someone dropped barebond and it stuck on his grill? I don’t remember anyone being parked there either.
Props to Josh for the hospital visits. I can’t even imagine how those visits have impacts those kids lives. He seems like such a good dude. I don’t watch Xfinity much, but I’m going to start, and I’m going to be watching for Josh!
Technically what he did was in the rule book
Legend!!! The best thing to happen in the Nascar series in years.
I’m sure his sponsors are absolutely LOVING all the extra attention they’re getting from this. I know sponsors have told drivers before that if they’re not upfront, spin or cause a caution so they get more TV time lol.
Now I have an xfinity driver to cheer for; Josh Williams
He’s now an icon for the small teams getting mistreated and ran around by Nascar officials. Many pointed out that if a JR or JGR had the exact issues, they wouldn’t have been told to park by Nascar in the first place like Josh was
I am proud of this guy. 110% was needed to be done. People need to stang up to the Gustavo. Enough is Enough is Enough.
Glad I found this clip because my biggest worry was the impact on the team and the sponsors and now finding out there’s been no loss because he can make up the points lost
I hope this leads to some more funding for this guy allowing him to run up front! This man seems like the real deal, humble, down home, blue collar kind of guy.
Telling a small team to park their car like that… shame on Nascar..
Josh is such a well spoken humble guy, He’s turned me into a huge fan
While some may hate him for doing what he did, he got his name out there and by the sounds of this interview, this is the type of person NASCAR should be proud to have in their driver lineup. A real class act. Nothing but love and respect for him and his team
So much respect for Josh Williams ❤
We are all Josh Williams fan now! Hope he get inside Top 20 and get his money
People like Josh and the Melon Man are bringing personality and a sense of grounding back to the sport, and I don’t think any normal person has a problem with the “little guy” sticking it to The Man. I didn’t know who Josh Williams was before this incident, but I’ll sure be keeping an eye on him now. Keep it up!
