There are so many crashes and incidents that Fox did not show us or give us a replay of. Super frustrating TV coverage today. Great race though.

Throwing the caution near the end to blow dirt off the track was the most blatant showing of Nascar needing to make the end a crash fest ever

@John Snow Well we were having crashes from the dirt and we probably would have seen more if they didn’t throw the caution so I think they made the right call.

@Alan Wiltsie some have suggested local cautions in that case though.

The lack of stage cautions was soooooooooo refreshing. Do that every race now.

Idk on speedways i think it’s better but road course it’s fine without.

Stage cautions are a huge part of why I stopped watching weekly.

Thanks for removing the stage cautions for the COTA weekend!

I had a wonderful time watching the racing naturally play out and the door open for more close, clean racing. It vastly improved how strategy played out, too.

Please consider doing this for all of the other tracks across the 3 main series. This weekend reminded me of why I started watching NASCAR in the first place, and I hope younger fans especially will get to enjoy seeing racing with a more organic flow become normal again.

Great show this weekend! I hope you know that the experiment of removing stage cautions but still awarding points was a massive success!

Well, just for the road courses. Hope they’ll do that for other tracks too.

The middle part of the race when they all ran clean and green was quite enjoyable. The caution happy ending was just embarrassing, especially when the leaders were most under control, the backend of the grid just kept doing something stupid. Those idiots need to understand at that far back, it’s not their race to be that aggressive anymore. Luckily those idiotic actions didn’t really alter the result. The fastest car won.

you have to think from their perspective that every point counts. If they are given opportunities they need to make the most of what they can in case there are open playoff spots on points this season

yeah if we could just not have stage cautions every week that would be great

Such an amazing race! And now I hate overtime with a passion. My god that went on way too long. That caution with 4 to go for someone blowing a tire did not need to happen.

5:19 I was listening to PRN Radio during that battle and it was the most incredible battle I have ever seen! The radio guys were going crazy and it made it all the more incredible to watch!

Technically if you were listening to the radio you heard not seen.

@raddude12I  Mute the TV and listen to the radio. Not hard to do.

It definitely puts the Fox booty to shame idk why they are so boring and I only watched the highlights I couldn’t imagine the broadcast.

I listened to the race on PRN. I was really loving it between the stint between Denny Hamlin’s spin and Brad Keselowski’s failure, because even if NASCAR might have manufactured it with that caution for the dirt (I honestly don’t believe they did because if it’s causing people to spin, you kinda need to do something), but even if that were the case, the fuel mileage race between that and the next caution was a thriller to see that, I have to say, I never thought I would either see again or enjoy so much. The end kinda ruined it for me, but Brad Keselowski’s caution, and all the subsequent ones, were absolutely necessary so I don’t fault NASCAR for it. It was a typical road course race at the end, but it was one that felt organic and NASCAR didn’t make any terrible decisions (aside from taking so long to park Preece), but I enjoyed the race, solid 8/10, losing points primarily for going to overtime. I honestly think overtime would not have changed my opinions about this race, and the fact that we made it through largely without controversy and a good product that I would show to friends who are not into NASCAR.

TL/DR: Race wasn’t perfect, but enjoyed the organic, largely gimmick-free race.

Reddick was the first driver to make five on-track passes for the lead in a Cup road course race since at least 1986. I don’t know if it happened before that but those races weren’t televised.

Even after an unlucky day Larson manages manages to go from 2 laps down with 3 to go to finishing 14th that was unbelievable to me.

I might start watching again weekly if they end the stage cautions permanently. First race I actually could stand having on in in the background in forever
