Will Kevin Harvick Have the GREATEST Final NASCAR Season Ever?

Over the 2010s Kevin Harvick asserted himself as one of the greatest drivers in NASCAR history and in 2023 he is looking to close out his career in style and success. So far he has actually done quite well all things considered and is in the running to outperform Jeff Gordon’s impressive 2015 campaign. So this got me thinking of one particular question. Will Kevin Harvick have the greatest final NASCAR season ever?

How good/bad do you think Kevin Harvick’s final season will end up being?

2 wins, Round of 12 elimination. 9th in points.

@LS_812 as a matt kenseth fan, feel like Harvick is better.

I think he’ll be good. Harvick is one of the greatest longevity drivers of all time. In 2021 he tied Dave Marcis for most top 10s in a winless season at 24.

Couple wins and finish top 8. Don’t see him making Phoenix

I feel it will be a great finale season for the closer as he should have won at Phoenix a few weeks ago and we are at Richmond this weekend where he finished 2nd and 1st. Now with all that being said it will be interesting to see if he can match Jeff Gordon’s performance in the playoffs because he was eliminated in the first round last year at no-fault of his own and then in 2021 he got eliminated in the round 12. Harvick is going to need to be consistent enough to run top 10 week in and week out during the playoffs to make it all the way to the round of eight and maybe to the championship 4.

My stats for Harvick’s final year
Wins: 2
Top 5: 9
Top 10: 16
Laps led: 289
Stage wins: 2
Makes it to the final 4 and finish’s 8th (3rd overall in the championship)

I hope he does well the rest of the season

I think he’ll have a decent final year. I think he’ll get 1 to 2 wins and make it far in the playoffs.

As a harvick fan, I’m hoping he has a great final season. It would be very poetic if he can make the final 4, and get his 10th win at Phoenix and win another championship

That is VERY optimistic, and I’m a big Harvick fan. But that being said. If he makes the final 4, his championship chances are pretty high.

I say he gets about 2 or 3 wins this season, depending on how well he keeps up his hot start

Hopefully he goes out with an amazing season, he’s a legend

It’s certainly possible. Harvick has shown speed early on this season. If he and the #4 team can run up front consistently throughout the remainder of the year, I don’t see why not.

Go for Champion, Harvick. For you, for Dale, for us.

If Harvick doesn’t remain consistent, I just hope he backs into the champion like how Logano did twice considering he’s had 4 dominant seasons and 2 of them he didn’t even get to compete for due to the VERY broken Chase format. Richmond is coming up, and he almost won in the Spring last year, and he won the in the summer race. So he’s got a chance next weekend.

Glad you mentioned him picking up the pace in 2022. Even through his horrific stretch from Daytona 2 to Talladega 2, he was still wicked fast: Darlington and Kansas especially showed him being bad fast *much* earlier in the race than he had been earlier in the year. The only real blip in that stretch that is cause for concern in that stretch is his mediocrity at Bristol. Otherwise, he’s only picked up the pace. I’m confident he’ll get multiple wins this year.

He was fast at Bristol. He was top 3 all night. His pit crew dropped the ball and he finished 10th.

i think his final will be about on par with Jeffs final, but it all depends on how SHR is

Harvick’s always been consistent and from what we’ve seen so far, he’s showed how quietly dominant he’s is.

It still boggles my mind that he is an incredibly elite at 47. He really deserves the championships he lost because of the format.

Dale was 48 in 2000 and came 2nd in points and had 2 wins and averaged a 9.7 place finish i think it was…he was too good…

Happy’s my guy. I don’t believe his age will derail the season. The car and/or Nascar decisions may, but he’ll be just fine talent and stamina-wise.

He easily could have had 3 wins this season already (Daytona, Atlanta, Phoenix) and has shown a lot of speed, despite driving for SHR. I would say he has a good chance of having the best swan song season of all time.

Imagine if Harvick had Hedrick equipment… as a Harvick fan from when he was a Busch series driver I wonder what his career would’ve looked like in the best equipment possible

As a diehard Kevin Harvick fan, I surely hope he does! Truly one of the most under appreciated drivers of all time. He’s still elite at age 47 and 7th in points. Something Jimmie Johnson can’t say. And had Phoenix won. If SHR wasn’t holding him back right now he would be having the numbers like Byron, Chastain, Elliott right now at age 47

I would love to see Harvick have the best final season ever! I just think it won’t happen because as you stated, SHR just isn’t the right team for it. They have clearly been struggling for the last few seasons. But hey, you never know! Go Harvick!
