Same weekend
Same penalties
Should’ve been heard by same appeals panel

It’s hard to make it fair when it’s different people on the panel. Should be same people all year long. More transparency.

Don’t say “transparency” in relation to NASCAR. That word isn’t in their vocabulary.

@overcomer1222 Isn’t that the same as Jumbo Shrimp? hehe

Kaulig should have gotten the exact same penalty reduction Hendrick Motorsports got with their appeal

Anthony Jones April 6, 2023 at 12:07 am

I agree. I wonder if they didn’t present the case as well.

Jaymin Bernhardt April 6, 2023 at 12:35 am

I agree with you but also disagree. Both broke the rules both teams penalties should’ve stood

NASCARFAN93100 April 6, 2023 at 1:55 am

@Jaymin Bernhardt IMO The penalty reduction for Hendrick Motorsports was a punishment against NASCAR Considering their lack of credibility

This is some bullshit. Hendrick gets off and Kaulig gets nailed. No consistency and pure bias for the powerhouse. How can you ever expect a small team to get good when this happens?

Reply
Dewey Cheatum N Howe April 6, 2023 at 12:07 am

Kaulig got screwed. Again, the power of Mr H shows through.

overcomer1222 April 6, 2023 at 12:56 am

Does anyone think there’s anything that can be done about Hendrick’s power? If not, then why do all the other teams continue to just go along with it? We don’t need anymore proof of Hendrick bias from NASCAR.

You know nothing. Not enough information to determine that.

Devin Hull April 6, 2023 at 4:40 am

Sorry, but I would bet anything HMS was far better prepared for the appeal than a lower tier team was. No doubt about it. HMS knows the gray areas better than anyone and knows how and when they can interpret things differently to their advantage. They knew at the start before Phoenix that something may happen and they already had the appeals and keeping emails and stuff just in case. They aren’t stupid.

Kaulig is a new team, I’m not surprised

Nascar needs to show just what it was that was deemed wrong with all of the levers on all 5 cars and If they were all deemed illegal for the same reason the penalty should be the same for all 5 cars as well as having the same panel of three hear all f teams appeals . But wait that would make sense and would not lead to conspiracy theories .

Good hell. This is going to start a riot among all of the different teams. The amount of inconsistency from nascar is outrageous

Reply
overcomer1222 April 6, 2023 at 12:58 am

I sure hope you’re right. This has to stop or NASCAR is doomed, if not already.

Momentum Racing April 6, 2023 at 1:48 am

its not really NASCAR. Nascar has been consistent with penalizing teams that have modified the parts. Its the appeals panel that is inconsistent

Reply
M4te0S22 #MONSTER54 April 6, 2023 at 11:48 am

It’s appeals panel’s fault, not NASCAR’s. The pannel decides about the appeals, not NASCAR.

Owners should boycott this weeks race until the rules are fair for everyone.

Reply
Riley Maenhout April 6, 2023 at 1:23 am

Years back, Montoya’s shocks exceeded the pressure limit. His qual time was disallowed and his team was penalized. A couple weeks later, the 48 did the same thing and they changed what the pressure limit of the shocks can be. So, yeah. There’s definitely a HMS bias.

Nascar needs to give Kaulig their points back. It’s the right thing to do

Reply
Jason LaVere April 6, 2023 at 3:04 am

Makes you wonder why all the teams start skipping these meetings in protest of NASCAR. If the part never was never raced, why is there a points penalty? Good lord NASCAR.

Reply
TreyRex99 April 6, 2023 at 3:36 am

This should have been an Easy Answer, if Hendrick with the exact same model did the exact same thing and got a full points penalty then why is kauling still getting a points penalty? (Kauling and Hendrick are both Chevys)

Reply
Terry Costakis April 6, 2023 at 5:54 am

The non-transparency of decisions like this are what makes the fans feel that Hendricks receives special treatment. The reasoning behind these decisions needs to be explained to everyone otherwise we think the worst.

Reply
Paul Wing Jr April 6, 2023 at 6:14 am

I’m a full blooded Hendrick guy. But this whole deal is wrong. Kaulig deserves their damn points back.
