Oh boy, here we go…
We need more transparency. The appeals process needs revised.
Hendrick motorsports had the better lawyer basically, money talks!
Hendrick has text messages that show that NASCAR approved the louvers. The brought receipts to the appeal and they won. Apparently #31 team did not have the same receipt.
Kaulig and HMS did the exact same thing
Same parts, same penalty
So then why aren’t the appeals results the same!!!!??????
Maybe they didnt have the same paper trail
The appeal and argument can be different. HMS had a good argument
Kaulig must not have
We will never know until they release the info on what argument was brought up
I think one big difference was that HMS brought the parts to the attention of Nascar before Practice and were cleared to race with them.
Kaulig should have gotten the exact same penalty reduction as Hendrick Motorsports
But I guess NASCAR wanted to piss away what credibility they had left
its not nascar fault its a 3rd party that chooses if the penlities get appealed or not, a lot of nascar fans don’t know this and its a very important factor. We shouldn’t be getting pissed at nascar they enforced the rules, the 3rd party that is removing penlities is the reason of these dumb favouritism
@Fastaria Motorsports Still a bad look for NASCAR nevertheless
@Fastaria Motorsports It doesn’t help that for every single case they review they put an entirely new panel forward to judge the case. So Kaulig could have presented the exact same info that Hendrick did but because the people making the decision were different the outcome was different. This process, of course, makes no sense and provides no consistency in judging.
The fix was in for Hendrick this does not make any sense. Kaulig gets there cars and parts from Hendrick. Why did the hammer kaulig and drop the points penalty of Hendrick ? Sometimes very weird here.
@RDGamer321 I feel like NASCAR needs to find a panel that is the same for all decisions. The fact that you have different panels mean you will never have consistency in these types of calls.
Kaulig racing can not get a break
They did not pay off the appeal panel like Hendrick why else would they get a penalty when their cars prepared by Hendrick
@Craig E argeed
I think the car owners need to start up their own series and tell nascar to stick it where the sun doesn’t shine.
That ain’t happening. They need NASCAR as much as NaSCAR needs the teams.
The reason Hendrick got the points back and Kaulig did not is Hendrick asked someone if they could make the parts fit and someone OK’d it. Kaulig didnt get a go ahead to do it. 1 team got permission that was wrong and the other team did not.
So, if they got permission why were they fined money? Either they fucked up and the plenty should have been upheld or not.
@The Duffy Street Incident Podcast ask Nascar that question. Hendrick brought texts messages that showed they asked permission when they had the appeal. NASCAR should give back that $400k to HMS.
Wow This is a mistake made by the appeals jury?? The car never made it on track was the argument I had why Hendricks got driver points back but this is very VERY disappointing and will cause the media and fans to not shine a light on Nascar it makes that Black eye even darker for the sport now. Unbelievable that the fine and crew chief should of stayed but car never made the track so driver points being only reduced WOW way to keep the sport in the news appeal committee
Hendrick also has text messages that show NASCAR approved the modification.
@NoSoyAllowed Have not heard what type of communication was pass through both parties seems that they got the OK to make the parts fit then Nascar saw how it was done and said no. But my issue is I don’t think any cars got on the track with the part on the car therefore the driver has no fault in the accident which means the points should not have been issued in the first place. Also the penalty in points should only be the amount of if the driver won the race and all the stages for that track so it like they were disqualified for that race. Giving teams more than that is just wrong even for the sport and the support of that teams fans because that takes you out of the championship even with a win for a smaller team this DOES NOT even the playing field for all.
The fix was in
Kaulig got screwed all 8 of Hendrick got all taken. Just 1 got taken from Kaulig. this is just total bullpoop
Kaulig getting a points penalty is Nascars way of saving face bc they were shown up on the Hendrick appeal.
absoute BS
I’ll take the owners seriously once they boycott a race and nascar has to cancel the race
Hopefully at Texas
That really just screws over the broadcast partners and sponsors, people that the team owners also want to keep happy. The team owners aren’t gonna boycott a race until the situation is very dire and if the deal has already been signed
@connor bingel that’s why nascar is going down hill fast… Big dirt track teams have no problem missing races to make a point
Proof beyond any doubt favoritism to Hendrick what BS!!
What I would like to see is the flag stand giving the green flag and all the drivers come to a stop. Nascar operations would realize they are nothing without the teams they seem to regard as trash.
Vise Versa the teams are nothing without NASCAR
@Braedon Shelton You’re right to a certain extent. I mean if the NASCAR drivers all said we’re gone, and formed another series, then THAT series would be the one that people tuned into. Worst case though, is that you end up with a CART vs. IRL deal. It needs to be all or nothing.
I want to know what this communication about using this part was and how nascar blessed off on it before they retracted it
We need to bombard nascar with questions
This shows when you are one of the big teams in nascar you can buy your why out of penalties. There cars are come from Hendrick but their penalty is upheld something doesn’t smell right I’m guessing NASCAR didn’t want to lose Hendrix for cars from the playoffs
the first panel was surprised by steak and lobster dinners and maybe a small donation to a favorite charity. kaulig only serves mcdonalds
Daniel confused everytime he talks I get confused
