Preece also had problems with Christopher Bell at the fall 2017 Xfinity Kansas race
I think you were referring to Erik Jones, I know that Elliott Sadler and Ryan Preece at Homestead Xfinity 2017.
I wouldn’t be happy with my crew chief for not managing his driver better. That was not cool. There’s a race to run and it’s not decided by one corner or one bump.
Ryan tried his best to avoid a “Hamlin” moment but it’s going to be interesting to see if NASCAR goes snooping around on podcasts and social media. Statue of limitations don’t run out on midnight Sunday as we’ve learned.
I hate the new standard, but in the end it should be 25 points and a fine for Preece. Not really sure there is a way around this one for Nascar.
@Kyle Raymer tons of wrecks are intentional that don’t get penalized. Logano at the Clash this very season was intentional. Ross wrecking AJ at COTA last year was intentional. Logano wrecking Byron at Darlington last year was intentional.
You only get penalized if you admit to it, like Denny and Byron learned.
@Robert Redmon you 100% replied to the wrong person. I don’t think there should be any fines or suspensions for self-policing. You wreck someone, expect payback. Then it’s done. And Denny owes Ross a 3rd one since he’s up 3-2 on Denny.
@Timothy Latham Oh I’m right there with you. Typically in the past intentional wrecks were let go, but this year the standard is different. And no it’s not about admitting. For one that would be pretty messed up if they were simply penalizing guys for saying they wrecked someone. Also plenty of guys in the past have admitted it and not been penalized. Again though the standard has been set this year and this should in fact result in a penalty or else it’s gonna look very bad on Nascar’s part. I think their hand has been forced on this.
@Robert Redmon I’m right there with you, but Nascar’s new standard this season is penalizing guys for intentional contact. Personally I think it’s a dumb policy, but I’m also one that supports consistency with rulings, so I think this should end up the same way.
@Timothy Latham if I did apologize I never want to see people get hurt but at the same time I do love good hard racing
Larson and his spotter didn’t even offer the 41 an apology for the initial contact. You can say “that’s racing” all you want but any time you get walled as a race car driver you’re gonna get pissed off especially when you have a good car. Perhaps the 41 crew should have done more to calm him down but time and time again we have seen drivers return the favor later on in the race.
One more thing Larson ended his own night not Preece. He came down the track to the 41. His car wasn’t “broke”.
His spotter was telling him there was a car high. No need for the spotter to apologize. Larson was the one who ran into him on purpose.
You must not have watched because you could look at the front wheels and tell the car was broken.
This is short track racing on dirt car bouncing off each other is common
@Timothy Latham on purpose? It definitely wasn’t on purpose ..
This wasn’t worth retaliating over..
Especially over an hour later, a spin by both drivers, and other situations Preece had in-between.
That bump didn’t nothing to Preece’s car..
Was it mistake by Larson or his spotter, sure but you have completely clueless to racing to think it was intentionally done.
@Jeffrey Snipes it 100% was on purpose. You can do that in real dirt racing and get away with it because late model noses are slanted so far down and the rear ends are so high up. He’s done it plenty of times before. He throws it into places and expects the other driver to lift, just like Chase and Bubba found out last season.
He can do no wrong in your eyes, huh. Larson fans circa 2021 are the worst.
I don’t understand Chad Johnsons disdain for Larson considering Larson prolonged his career by a number of years…
There’s some similarities between Bubba Wallace and Ryan Preece and they both said, “I don’t lift off the throttle for anyone.”
Need new material my man. That line was all used up a long time ago. Larson is however a proven winner. Not sure about the other 2.
@Marquis Vegan I highly doubt this thing between Ryan Preece and Kyle Larson is going anywhere. As a Kyle Larson fan, I saw nothing but short track racing with this incident. Unlike the Bubba Wallace incident which was a massive overreaction.
@SpheredHawk67 Bubba retaliated more aggressively which he paid the price for but both of those incidents were due to Larson running them up the wall and he has done it in other incidents also.
Maybe Preece should go watch a dirt race, Larson and others slide in front all of the time going faster than they were going here, Preece need his 5 minutes in the lime light the other light has done him any favors, Now he can say I took Kyle Larson out.
The guy he drives for , Tony Stewart, sure didn’t like how he acted or spoke. That’s who Priest needs to be concerned about.
I’m Sure Smoke Will Have A Talk With Him And They’ll Move On
Sorry, but when everyones running a slightly different line, youre gonna have to “lift” quite a bit or you’ll wreck more often than not. If you cant pass em high, then go low. If you cant do either, youre screwed.
he needs to go to jail with cody ware!
As a Crew Chief and Spotter, their behavior and radio chatter deserves a Bud Light… and each with their own likeness on it. JS
Larson kinda has tendency to running into people for no reason. Off the top of my head I think of Elliott at Fontana and Watkins Glen, Ty Dillon at IRC, Bubba at Las Vegas and now Ryan. And that’s only last two years
Whats the problem ? Its short track DIRT racing. These things happen, including the tempers. Nascar Race Hub looking for a story that isn’t there. I would be more concerned about that lack of fans in the stands. Nascar on its way out .
Ryan Preece Is Awesome
Larson followed him down the banking and spun himself.
Kyle is a punk . Acts like he never does anything wrong . Took out his own teammate at Atlanta. Chase Elliot .
Chase Elliott wasn’t even racing at Atlanta.
123 swipes you’re out!!! at the old race track!!!
