So they’re going to start with a consumer Camry, not a 7th gen cup car chassis and body? It better be RWD and have a fire breathing cup engine under the hood.

I hope so too, which seems like that’s what their going for

Making something street legal is 1000x easier starting with a street chassis

@Jack Armstrong … yeah, but a real Next Gen chassis is designed to house the 650hp Toyota TRD V8, the fully independent rear link suspension and the beefed up 5 speed sequential transaxle.
Just try stuffing all that specialty racing equipment into a regular Camry unibody chassis! It’ll never work…

This was uploaded a few hours ago. They presented it at Richmond which was just a little over a week ago. They will probably be doing teasers for it and reveal the car at Chicago or some time this season. Are you OK?

But… isn’t the street legal version of the next gen Camry just a Camry…?

So you’re reverse engineering a Next Gen Cup car back to what’s off the dealership’s showroom floor? Uhhh, excuse me but haven’t we had this “dream” (nightmare) before?

Just make sure there is a V8 since stock Camrys only have v6’s since Toyota is japanese and their means of power are only 6 cylinder cars like Supra
