@D F 2014 was the last season the engines were unrestricted, except for Daytona and Talladega. Cup engines used to have 850-900 horsepower and today they have “670.”
Unfortunately not going to happen unless the schedule is shortened by quite a bit and using a new engine every race is acceptable.
