He should get his points back on appeal
Reminder that Nascar has since rewritten the rules on the appeal process, saying that the entire penalty (money, points, and suspension) must all be taken away or any amendments to it must be within the numbers of the original penalty. (Can be lowered to 20 points taken instead of 60.)

NASCAR has made it very clear, you DO NOT mess with these cars. Right wrong or indifferent, those are the rules

These penalty’s are incredibly dumb. How can is pas pre race inspection and wait till the middle of the week to announce a penalty, they should do it if any before any on track events
Let me guess, if Dale was around?
Are we seeing a trend of NASCAR taking some retribution against teams as leverage in the TV contract battle? Are we ever going to hear a comprehensive description of these phantom huge offenses to the sport of stock car racing? Because with all the secretive BS, it’s starting to look like NASCAR is picking team owners pockets. It all smells like backstabbing chicken fertilizer.

It sure doesnt seem like talent, creativity and ingenuity mean anything anymore.
Only thing that matters most weeks is just being in the right place at the right time.
I mean, if we were at Kansas or something and they had an aero advantage, I can see that. But at Martinsville of all places?!? Common. When is NASCAR going to start holding the single source manufacturers accountable for not building spec parts? Thats what I want to know.
